    Flightscope Xi Tour Accuracy?

Recently purchase a (gently) used Xi Tour and have been slowly getting to know it. I have only used it outdoors on the range. I have one specific question and one general question:

    1. My driver clubhead speed is 95-96 mph. Most of my drives show carry of 238-245 yds, which seems reasonable. However, about one third of my drives are carry of 257-265 yds, which seems unlikely given my ss. What do you think is going on? This is on a flat range, 800 ft above sea level, no meaningful wind.
    2. Is there any source for optimum club data at given swing speeds? Like launch angle, spin rates for an 80 mph eight iron?

Thanks for any assistance. I am very happy with my purchase and happy to have found this forum.

Optimal flight. You can change parameters to see what can make the most impact.
You can also use flightscope trajectory optimizer to change parameters. In order for it to change that much, my guess would be swing speed, sometimes you just swing more freely now and then.

FlightScope's Trajectory Optimizer is a golf ball flight trajectory program. The program will plot the flight of the ball in real time after the user's input of the initial launch conditions of the golf ball. Based on scientific algorithms, FlightScope's Trajectory Optimizer will help you find your optimal ball flight trajectory to add distance to your golf shots.

      1. You are outside on radar
      2. Assuming it is relatively flat the Xi is "seeing" actual carry.

Most likely your CHS is higher on those longer ones. And it doesn't have to be much higher , talking 5-6mph higher. Smash is also possible but the problem with that is you would need to be hitting your "shorter" shots with faster CHS. Then the discrepancy would simply be strike and gear effect related ( example; you path is in to out, face is open to path but you strike on the toe , which gives the appearance of a straight shot but your efficiency is terrible)

Pay attention to ball speed next time. Ignore CHS for now.

with a higher launch angle, say 4/5 degrees, with low spin, you can get 250 yard carry...

I believe you mean Angle of Attack.

          OP.
Pay attention to some of the other params like AoA, ball speed and spin.

As others mentioned, you may be making swings that are approaching perfect launch conditions. Ball speed will be a good indicator of how fast you are swinging and purity of contact. From what I understand, CHS may vary a bit based on where on the club (toe, center, heel) FS measures speed.

You have a lot of data there. Post some details on those long carry shots.

Ok here is data on one of the drives:

            Carry 256.8 yds
            Total 274.9 yds
            club 94.0 mph
            ball 142.1 mph
            smash 1.51
            spin 2262 rpm
            v launch 15.4
            AoA 8.9

Yes, I swing up on the ball, avg AoA is 8 degrees.

Thanks for all of your responses.

              Using this tool http://flightscope.com/products/trajectory-optimizer/

Those numbers are pretty close, if it was downwind at all or at any altitude those numbers should be accurate. I'm getting about 242 carry with no wind and flat at 500ft altitude
