    MEVO+ Data - Conspiracy Theory

Kudos to Par2Pro for comparisons of MEVO+ and GC2. I might have preferred P2P just use the MEVO+ app, but maybe P2P wanted to showcase the connectivity with TGC.

My ears perked up at the part of the video when Cory said TGC was reporting club face angle data. It got me wondering if this data was fed from MEVO+ to TGC, or if TGC was calculating based on spin axis and horizontal launch.

Some have been speculating whether MEVO+ was measuring club face angle and club path behind the scenes.
Knowing FS history of offering post-sale upgrades for a fee that report previously locked data, it seems plausible.

In my mind, if measured club face and path data gets unlocked, there isn't much left to differentiate the unit from an X3 or justify the difference in price.
It got me wondering if MEVO+ has ability to report club path and face data, is it measuring it or calculating it?

At that point, as a consumer, I'm still happy with calculated path and face as long as the data it's drawn from is measured accurately.
If I owned an X3, I'm happy with direct measurement for my business or high performance analysis purposes.
And, I'm not honked off FS sold a lower level unit for thousands of dollars less, that gives almost as much measured data.

I saw that video too and wondered the same thing. What was the purpose of mentioning that information? It's almost as if it were a clue.

I also thought that the carry distances were off since TGC2019 has its own flight model built into it, so maybe the distances would be closer in the FS App or E6.

However, I would think an X3 is a more powerful unit, considering it does measure club low point in addition to AOA. Also X3 has somoe more parameters that are measured and some more dynamic club tracking features.

Someone on another thread punched in the measured 7-iron parameters from the TGC numbers P2P reported into Flightscope's optimizer. They said the carry numbers from the optimizer were all "right on top" of the carry figures reported by the GC2. Which, if you think about it, makes sense given MEVO+ ball and club speeds were higher, but the spin (which would reduce carry) was also higher.
