So I hate sim putting no matter what device so the fact Mevo+ putting wasn’t great didn’t bother me as I’ll always opt for auto putt.
However, my daughter is showing mild interest in the sim now and I really want her to take up the game (I can sell more golf rounds for myself if one of the kids is coming) so I downloaded the Golfisimo demo mainly to check out the mini golf.
I set up my Mevo+ in the basement on rec room carpet (my mat to net isn’t flat) and loaded up the demo. I had Mevo+ 7’ to ball on the sim tilt and I had 10’ before ball hit the cardboard box I put up to not hit the wall. The carpet was not a fast green but rolls close enough to my putting carpet in speed. The first mini golf hole was like 40 yards (yes yards) so I gave it a good whack and the ball hit the box hard but on the game rolled like 20 feet. I hit a bunch of putts and I couldn’t get anything to go.
I moved to E6 assuming it was software. I went to the 20’ flat putt and had to rip it to get it to the hole. I hit about 40
putts and all were super short. I estimate they were travelling 50 to 60% of what they should have. Putts that hit my 10’ barrier with speed to carry them another foot consistently went 6-7’ in game. The game was set at 8 stimp and I ran out of time to play with that but I’m not used to real golf on tour speeds so I bet 10 is my weekend round at this time of the year.
I know folks have said the putting sucks but my sense was it related to no reads and not being able to hit putts less than 10’. I had zero issues hitting putts short I couldn’t get one to go long.
The silver lining is I probably saved $400 as Golfisimo mini golf was unplayable and I was stretching to justify that cost as it was. The pitch and putt courses would have been useful for my daughter but I can find/make short courses on TGC if I have to and other than the mini golf the other games weren’t super immersive without an impact screen.
