    Mevo+ .09 firmware issues

Installed 0.9 firmware yesterday. Went out to the range and found the following issues using outdoor mode. First of all my spin was very high. Probably twice as much. Spin for 32 degrees 7 iron was about 12-13K. But the distance was long for using range balls. Could not figure it out for the life of me. Then when I was on Myflightscope.com looking at the data I realized my altitude was at over 6,000 ft when I was actually next to the ocean. I decided to hack the GPS coordinate of my phone and found that in certain locations the altitude and barometric pressure was correct but in other less well known locations the altitude and barometric pressure was way off. I will try again in a few days to see if the data using indoor mode on t/he range is better. This is probably not an issue in the US. I’m in Hong Kong and unless I’m in the city center my altitude and pressure data are way off.

I live at an elevation of 3600 and I play about 1/2 of my rounds at 4500. The ball flies considerably farther than at sea level. I would say that a 8 iron flies about 10 yards farther here than at sea level. It is also pretty dry here. That also makes a difference.

      I noticed higher spin too but mine looks more accurate now. PW - 9k, 9i - 8k, 8i - 7k.

I think the difference between sea level and about 4000 feet is around 7 to 8%.

Calgary is about 3600. A few years back, there was a championship tour event at Canyon Meadows GC. I saw Jimenez ( on TV) hit one 360 yards without any wind or elevation. The fairways at higher elevations also give more roll out ..... I think. All I know is that when I golf at sea level, the ball doesn't seem to roll out much. Come to think about it.....it might have been about 340..... I just remember saying that he hit a bomb....for his age.

My problem is being at sea level I am getting distance that is 8-10 percent longer because the FS Golf think I’m at 6,000 ft elevation. I really don’t want to use indoor mode when I’m outdoor because I want to have the unit track the ball as long as it can. Just wish there’s an option to turn off weather in outdoor mode.

I will try next turning off location services to see if I get better data.

Hit on mine last night. My driver is 20-30 yards shorter after update.

Carry? That would be a lot.

Yes, Carry. My total now is less than my carry was before update. I will spend more time over the weekend testing. Putting is worthless. Still does not pick up a single putt unless I hit a 50 footer.

I possibly haven’t seen your other posts but have you ruled out setup on putting? Even in .08 mine picked up putts to 10’ every time I tried it (I hate sim putting in general so I’ll admit I’ve not done tons of testing) but given some of the videos I’ve seen it seems general no reads aren’t a universal problem except on the very short.

Gresh12 I have attached photos of build. Let me know if you have any ideas. I have a flat surface all the way from monitor to screen. I am not sure what else it could be.

You’ve got the TV off so guessing you’ve ruled that out (my tv is in a similar location with no issue while on though).

The one picture appeared to have a medal dumbbell but guessing that’s to stretch screen while not in use based on the photo with projector on.

Other than the bag of clubs not much going on there. Is your turf a super low stimp? I tried putting on high traffic carpet in my basement and had to give it a whack to register because the carpet was so slow. Using a putting mat fixed it though. Your turf visually doesn’t look like it would be super slow though.

Do you hit with the golf bags sitting there? I have had issue with clubs just leaning against a post off to the side. Room looks clean other then that.

I fit clubs and just moving the democlubs around, adjusting the display for next client, changed how my Mevo worked.

Yeah, that is about the only thing readily apparent that could cause interference. My experience is my Mevo is pretty sensitive to any smaller metal objects or electronics that are in front of and within say 6-7 foot radius of the Mevo+. Behind is fine. I had a 3w head in a headcover on the floor in front of me and gave some really bad reads and no reads until I moved it. Same with my clubs... I have my Mevo just barely under a table in my setup and if I put any metal object or phone on the table in a location in front of the Mevo, it will give bad reads too... hopefully moving your clubs solves it... if not, not sure what else..
