  • Losing Connection with Mevo+

    I seem to have an issue with losing connection with my mevo+. It happens both with the Flightscope app and with E-6. Sometimes it happens after a few shots sometimes after a few dozen. In E-6 the status led light will go white and my iPad shows the red dot that says disconnected and the yellow triangle flashes and says flightscope device not found. I have noticed exactly what the led light in the flightscope app does. I think it goes green and does not go back to red and it does not say ready and the in the flightscope app the top right corner of the app says no device. My iPad still shows that the WiFi signal is there and I am connected to it. To get E-6 or the flightscope app to work again I need to shut the mevo+ off and restart it and also the app. This just started about 2 or so days ago. I am not sure if it started right after the .09 update or a day later. Anyone else having a similar issue?

    I have the same thing occurr.. it's random, but for me usually in FS Golf more so than E6 or Skills. Could be a few shots, could be after about 20-30 shots... sometimes I'll go several sessions without it happening at all... the Mevo+ just stops arming. All lights are green, and the arm light on the device stops turning red. I'm still connected to the Mevo+ WiFi, it just stops arming... kinda like it's "frozen". The only way out is to power off and power on the Mevo+. Tells me it's a software/firmware issue with the device. Unfortunate but hey, at least you aren't alone! lol.

    I had this occur on the .08 firmware, the .09 beta, and now the recently released .09 firmware. I was hoping the FS Golf app updates and the firmware would solve but it hasn't. Next ocurrance, i'll be submitting the issue thorugh the feedback feature of the FS Golf app. Flightscope does monitor and act on feedback sent through the app. They told me they prefer to have issues submitted through the app feedback so they can see the session data and it's more helpful for troubleshooting.

      Thanks for the reply Tony and yes it’s nice to know I am not alone. Before .09 I had it once I a blue moon and with it it seems almost a sure bet to happen, just a matter of when. I am going to do the same via feedback and have done so before and was told that they could not find any reasons for it. At least now E-6 has the resume game feature and this is just another kink that needs to be worked out.

        I just got my Mevo a few days ago and same issue. Was hoping it isn’t a defective unit, but sounds like it’s a common issue. I’ve mainly been playing awesome golf so noticed it disconnecting and reconnecting there. Then had issues when I’d try to start a few different apps (E6, etc) and it said it couldn’t find the unit, but it was connected to my wifi.

          I've encountered a semi-disconnect issue, similar to what tonybrown32 described. With the FS Golf app, I get no-reads and this freeze but connected state fairly often. These issues only occur with FS Golf, never encounter them in TGC2019 so I'm suspecting it's the app that's having some weird issue and not a hardware firmware issue.

            I suspect the app too. I have a few buggy issues with the app and my iPad 6th gen to begin with... crashes on startup if I turn my iPad and switch orientation during the startup screen. I haven't had it ocurr in any other app than FS Golf so far... I had it happen in FS Golf, once, and then without resarting the Mevo+, tried to open E6 or FS Skills, and had it continue to not arm/work... but it so far seems to only start in FS Golf..

            I've had slightly different ocurrence in FS Skills, where it just keeps registering shots I didn't take during a skills challenge... which is weird. Won't pick up shots but keeps adding missed shots during my challenge.. weird... that only ocurred once or twice on the .08 firmware on Skills... haven't been playing much Skills lately, mostly FS Golf and E6.

            Totally acts like a software/OS glitch that just hangs up the hardware...

            I’ve had this occasionally in FS Golf but I don’t think ever in E6, TGC or even FS Skills.

            I’ve found FS Golf crashes on me reasonably often (especially on startup) or freezes in the video alignment mode.

            My feeling was always it was buggy software and not hardware but sounds like I may be wrong if others have issues in other apps.

          This is the same thing I experience with the flightscope app.
          Do you have to restart your unit and app to clear the issue and continue?

            I just restart the unit.. then it reconnects to the app just fine

          For the no-reads, I don't have to restart anything. For the connected (but not ready) state, I do have to restart the unit to get rid of the issue. If I only restart FS Golf, when it reconnected to the unit, the damn robot voice would get stuck in the "Ready" status and repeats itself in a loop. without picking up any subsequent shots.

            When I get the occasional no read, I don't have to restart anything... but it's when the Mevo+ doesn't arm (arm light stays green, and won't turn red to arm the radar) that's when I need to power off and power on the Mevo+ to resolve it.

          Guess I should have been clearer, yes I only have to restart when it fails to go into ready mode. The failing to go into ready mode seems to occur just after a no read but not always. And yes I to get the stuck robot voice as well.

            Just got off the phone with Rich at Flightscope support in regards to this issue. I also sent him a link to this thread so FS support can see the different situations and or software combinations that the glitch is occurring in. I also suggested that perhaps they could have someone from FS check in on the board from time to time and field some of the questions that pop up about different things to maybe clear up some of the things people are guessing about.

              Awesome.. hoping they research and can resolve in firmware or software... it's obviously more than just a one off ocurrence. I think the key is reporting these issues through the app when we see them. The more that report the same issue, the more attention they get. FS does a pretty good job of responding to the feedback submitted through the app.

            Played again tonight and lost the connection a ton of times (every few minutes for one stretch), followed by a lockup where all icons were green but radar status stayed white. After a reboot it started working again. I’d suggest Flightscope uses awesome golf to test as it does a good job of pushing a popup every time the connection glitches, which seems to happen every few minutes on mine.

              I have the same issue as well. Every once in a while but rarely I get the dis-connect glitch. It'll stay connected but won't arm with the red light. I have to restart the unit and it's back to normal. This happens with TGC2019 and the FS golf app so it's not exclusive to one situation in my experience.

                Reading threads like this make me less and less excited about my Mevo+ showing up in a few weeks after waiting for so long.

                  I'd say this has happened to me maybe 4 times in total since I've gotten it on 5/22 and I've used it for many rounds on TGC2019 and FS Golf app. It's extremely rare to me and an easy fix that corrects with a reset.

                Stay excited! Even with the issues it's well work the wait, and once you're gaming on it, you'll forget about the glitches. Good news is that it seems to be fairly prevalent, and likely a software issue, so they should be able to identify and resolve it...soon...

                  Stay excited, most of these things are glitches and growing pains. I am sure it will be figured out quickly. These units are a lot of fun. I was able to “play” golf with my grandson for the first time. He can’t get out on a course yet but we can have a lot of laughs in the backyard.

                    I am writing this about a year later then the messages that have been posted on this forum about disconnecting and not arming of the Mevo Plus. What has the company been doing about all this time. I bought a unit a moth ago and have yet to be abler to enjoy E6. It is rare when It ac tally works right. I am embarrassed to invite people over to see my new simulator that does’nt work! Right now I regret the purchase and all the money I have spent to make a great simulator. How do I get rid of this piece of xxxx. Robert Marier

                  I’ve had mine for just over a week now and have the same issue.
                  I was using it with iPad and it locks up randomly, usually in e6 golf but it has also happened with FS app.
                  I purchased the e6 upgrade for pc yesterday and it lost connection 40min into a session on the e6 practice range.
                  This is pretty annoying. I’m considering sending it back for a replacement.
