    Really enjoying the Mevo+

Had the Mevo+ for a couple of weeks now and really enjoying the unit. Ive heard lots of people with issues but my experience has been good so far. the odd miss putt/read etc but on the whole it's worth every penny imo.

Check it out in action below -

If I could get putting to trigger consistently, I would be pleased. Thus far, putting is so inconsistent it makes the golf rounds frustrating.

Have you tried TGC2019? Putting is, dare I say pretty good on E6, but not reliable at all on TGC2019. Just curious if maybe you've figured something out to get putting to read consistently.

no i dont have TGC2019 yet! only using e6 connect. is your putting service level the whole way? i seen Jay from golf simulator videos using a putting mat and seemed to work well.

Mine currently is not 100% level, but with maybe a 1/4 inch drop off on the front of the mat. But that doesn't seem to be the problem as it reads short putts pretty well, but struggles with long putts.

I’ve had mine a few months and I think it’s been great and FS continues to improve. It’s not perfect but neither are the launch monitors at 10x the price.

I’ve tried to stay out of the Facebook stuff because a lot of people were annoyed with the wait (which is fair but no one expected COVID) and when they felt it wasn’t perfect out of the box for them reasoning with them to troubleshoot hasn’t been worth it. I’ve had mine next to Trackman 4 and the guy that owns three TM for his business was very impressed with the Mevo+.

I will disclaim that I don’t sim putt so for those struggling with putting I can’t argue with them as it may not be great. The handful of times I tried putting on mine it worked “fine” (with a crappy general putting setup) except when putting on some high density carpet with a low stimp. I consider FS, TM, SkyTrak and GC2 putting all equally bad in a simulator (not saying they are equal in quality just that none feel realistic to me).

That's my sentiment as well. Put it on auto-finish or set 6' gimmes and practice your tee and approach shots with the monitor. You can practice putting with a glass and a yardstick - no need for fancy equipment.

I agree - im not the least bit bothered with putting personally. I have it set to 10ft gimmies and my setup for putting is bog standard but seems ok. Im just loving the sim life and think its great.

I’ve refrained from mentioning my issues Before, but my Mevo+ was not good. Outdoor at the range it was excellent. Seemed very accurate and never missed a shot. Indoor it struggled to give much in the way of accurate data. VLA were all over the place. Gear effect was an issue. I had a SkyTrak to use beside it and the data did not match up. I ended up selling the unit and selling the SkyTrak. I would purchase a Mevo + just for the outdoor range as it was very good there. Chipping and putting were very poor. Has massive potential but did not work well for me.

think its wonderful and continue to be amazed at the thought of golf year round, playing any day of the week, and playing 18 holes in 45 min instead of 5 hours on a saturday (weather permitting). e6 is fantastic. my oldest boy is getting really into golf, so definitely something we can do together. if he gets serious, the mevo+ could become a very useful training tool. i had essentially given up the game for a few years because it can be such a time sink, particularly if one wants to score well outdoors (takes a whole lot of playing to semi-consistently break 80, for me at least). sim area also doubles as a home theater, which has been lovely for the family during the pandemic.

I have the same good experience as you with my mevo+.
I just want to warn people how can playing a real course be deceptive after playing a lot of sim on e6 with auto finish / putting.
IRL I am a bogey player, in e6 sim I finish in 64. Don’t forget to practice A LOT your chipping and putting around real greens !

        Some great comments here -

Ive added a putting mat to my sim and seems to work pretty well. Good for just standard practice putting also

I’m enjoying the Mevo thus far, I did see a difference with my driver being way short.
Think this was due to indoor swing syndrome, took a little while to fully go at it as had a bit of bounce back at the start. Sorted that out and it’s now very close to my normal distances.
Iron wise it’s been a bit hit and miss, some long some short but again this may be due to hitting off a mat I think as it’s improved with every visit to the garage.

I never really used used the range before so I’m getting used to the feel and commuting to hitting down on the ball rather than trying to pick it clean.

putting and short chips are a different ball game altogether, I still haven’t totally finished the flooring so see how putting goes once it’s fully fitted and level.
Chipping those 25-49ft will be a work in progress but I’ll get there.

Looking forward to the the winter this year to get some online golf when the frost hits.

yea chipping for me took a while to get he hang of i must admit. i dont hit driver as dont seem to be able to commit in the tight space i have. Will work on this in the winter also. I think the sim will come into its own in the UK winter months for sure.

I was one of the first one to order and got a unit from the first batch. Since i have owned radar based LM i was pretty preparded for what i bought.

I am super happy with mine and i use it first and foremost for fitting clubs and personal practice.

I could not care less for putting and graphics so the free 5 course and ios are spot on for me.

Had my ST side by side and sold my Skytrak 2 weeks after i got the Mevo+, nuff said!

M+ is superior to ST in almost every aspect except required space and indoor setup. Indoor setup require patience.

I echo what others are saying I love mine and find it pretty reliable. I don’t care too much about putting but it was awful for me at first (wouldn’t read putts, would randomly register putts even when I didn’t hit the ball, etc.). I contacted FS support, they got back to me within 12 hours, talked about my setup, and determined it may be the fan in my overhead projector interfering with the radar in very short shots. My projector is 8 ft in front of center and a little over 8 ft off the ground (right over my head). I tested putting with the projector off and it worked great... even 5 footers reading consistently. Their proposed solution was to cover the parts of my projector in the radar field of view with a mesh metal screen to act as a faraday cage. So far seems to have done the trick!

Wanted to share in case others think their setup could be cause for some putter woes.

Will also note I putt from 7ft from LM and just right of center as suggested.

MJ328 you’re the person I came here to find. Can you share a link to the mesh you bought? I have same setup and same issue.

Hey guys, I have just got wife approval for a garage golf sim - happy days! Now, my hitting space is 11' wide and 20.5' feet deep. My budget will allow for a 1080p projector and PC with a gaming graphics card and for the launch monitor I am trying to choose between the Skytrak and Mevo+. I guess im leaning towards mevo+ if

Thanks, tinker. Sorry was off the grid for a bit. I ended up using some scrap 2x4s and forming a box roughly the dimensions of my projector to build the screen around. I would recommend wearing gloves to avoid any metal splinters. Screen holds shape well without any adhesives or anything. I just created little flaps for each piece to interlock.

Putting is still not perfect on the mevo+ (and I usually let the computer putt out anyway) but for me both putts and short chips are way better with the projector covered.

Setup is definitely a key factor in how well the data gets captured. I tinkered a bit more with my setup and my driver spin numbers got much much better. Maybe one of the firmware updates helped with that too. Anyone use the Mevo+ outdoors? I regularly use it at the range at my club and off grass the numbers are way better than off a mat.
