  • How to Use External Power Mevo+

Can anyone tell me how to get the Mevo+ to run off of either a battery pack or an extension cord (while using the supplied USB block and cable) instead of the internal battery? Do you plug in the USB cable and then start the unit or do you start the unit and then plug in the USB cable?

I had been looking for this YouTube video for 3 days and I finally found it again. Jonny Whatshisface does a great job of explaining how to get the Mevo+ to run on external power. 🤯 Hope this helps somebody else.

Are there any issues with leaving it permanently plugged into an outdoor grade extension cord, plugged directly into the wall?

Shiggidy112, I basically asked the same question here on GSF last week. Check out the responses at the link below. Hope that helps. https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...s-overcharging

Thanks, UncleScooby. That's helpful. I have to imagine that a quality, outdoor extension cord would be sufficient. My plan was to keep it plugged in for the majority of the time.

Make your own. Go to a home depot or electrical supplier and ask for 12-3 SO cable in whatever length you think you need, then get grounded male and female 15 amp cord ends.

White goes to silver terminal, black goes to gold terminal, green goes to green (ground pin) terminal.

12-gauge should do you for at least 50 feet, but I'd imagine you don't need one quite that long.

Edit: I'm accounting for the housing wire distance to the receptacle and Mevo+ finicky power supply when I say 50'. Technically, #12 should be good for at least 100' @ 120V 15A.
