Mevo+ E6 iPad screen size

Just got my new Mevo+ set up and I am very happy with the shot accuracy (I was worried seeing so many threads on here). Anyway, I am disappointed in the iPad display on the projector. I dialed in my projector location first so it fills the entire screen, but when I connect my iPad via HDMI to mirror E6, it only takes up maybe 65% of the width and height of the screen. I have a BenQ MX819ST and an 8th gen iPad, so both should be 4:3 native. Has anyone had success getting the iPad to fill the whole screen when using E6?

I have the same issue. Setting the projector to output at 16:9 helped fill the screen, even though ipad projects 4:3

Good enough for me as I didn't want to remount the projector to make up for smaller output

Ok so I just found a way to fix it while messing around! I wish I knew about it earlier, it could have saved me from buying a lightning to HDMI dongle.

1) Connect iPad to Macbook via lightning to usb cord
2) Open Quicktime on Macbook
3)Start a recording in Quicktime but select the iPad as camera source. Now iPad screen should be mirrored on Macbook in 4:3.
4) Connect Macbook to projector via HDMI

You also end up with a session recording in Quicktime if you wish to keep it which may interest some people. Obviously requires yet another device but happy to have the screen filled!

Thanks kperry this was just what i needed. I do a few YouTube videos and this is perfect for recording the screen. As you can't screen record on the iPad when connected to a HDMI projector as i only have e6 for IOS

Also, so what projector have most people had the best success with on displaying an iPad onto a projector screen. What type projector, how far away is it and what size does is display on your impact screen?

I have a Benq TH671ST. If I use iPad and set the aspect manually to 4:3 on the projector the image looks a little squished.. it looks better and fills my screen perfectly in 4:3 if I set the projector aspect to "auto"

I’m going with the same projector and iPad, but I’m worried about the image not filling the screen. My screen is 12x9.

My screen material is 10x9. I project 9.5 wide or so by 7.5ish.. I havent measured. The Benq should work for you if you place it in the right spot.

Short throw projectors seem most popular since they can be mounted on the ceiling or floor above or just ahead of the player if you have about 8-12 feet from ball to screen. If not a short throw, you may need to put the projector 18-24 feet from the screen.. at that distance if you don't have really high ceilings you may cast a shadow of the player and many dont have that much length in their space.

Find a short throw projector that meets your budget and resolution needs (720p, 1080p, 4k.. etc), then use the projector central calculator to see if that projector will work where you plan to mount it. Just about any short throw can work if you have flexibility in your mounting location,, but if you dont have much flexibility you really need to plan out your screen and projector location to find one that will work for your space... each projector has a slightly different throw distance for the image..

I purchased a 10x8 MicroBay from All Sports Systems and they recommended the ViewSonic PS501X short throw projector for the 4:3 aspect ratio. I purchased that projector, have an 8th generation iPad and purchased a generic lightning to HDMI adapter on Amazon ($15). This allows me to project a picture that takes up the entire screen in a full 4:3 aspect ratio without any zooming or stretching within e6 connect, FS golf, etc.

That said, this generic adapter does not work with YouTube TV, presumably due to some sort of restriction (i.e., Apple, Copyright, etc.). Therefore, I went ahead and purchased a Apple branded lightning to HDMI adapter. Upon testing that out, I noticed that the 4:3 ratio was much smaller and did not span the screen on e6 or FS golf, similar to what you are reporting. However, with the Apple branded adapter, YouTube TV works great (I use a 16:9 ratio for that, which spans the entire screen horizontally, but there is black space above and below picture, which is expected).

Nonetheless, I decided to keep both adapters. The generic one for golf simulator activities and the Apple adapter for all other content. Hope that helps.
