    Mevo+ won't power on?

So, trying to power on my Mevo+ today, it beeps a few times like normal, all lights turn green... then the radar light indicator blinks orange a few times and beeps, then the Mevo powers off.

Does this on battery, plugged into an outlet, or on a power brick. Also tried removing battery and also didn't help.

Anyone have this happen? I got mine in March, so still under 1yr warranty I believe, but curious if anyone had this happen and have been able to fix it.

tonybrown32 I had the same issue with mine! I contacted Flightscope support and was told that it sounded like a Q7 fault. I had to send it back to Orlando for them to replace the system board. I sent it back over a week ago and I'm still waiting for the return. I was told by support that they were waiting for a shipment of system boards to be sent from the South Africa factory to Orlando. I normally ran the Mevo+ on AC power, and kept it connected to the power.

One thing I noticed a couple of weeks before the Mevo+ failed was when I disconnected it from power, the unit would make a continuous clicking sound (like a capacitor was discharging or something). I had to remove the battery in order for it to stop. Once I replaced the battery the sound would go away. After the Mevo+ failure the sound went away. Did you observe the same behavior?

I have to say that the support team is very helpful and good to work with. I received a UPS return label the next day, and they received the returned Mevo+ within 3 days. After speaking with support I got the impression this may be a common.

    Good luck!

I can sympathize with you tonybrown32! I'm a PGA Associate Instructor and I had to cancel a few lessons. I'm seriously considering getting a more stable LM solution and using the Mevo+ as a backup. I will update you as soon as I receive mine back from support.
I hope you are able to get a loaner, it would be a shame to have your son home and not be able to spend time with him in your new sim build.

tonybrown32 I wanted to update you on the status of my Mevo+ that was having the same issues you described.
I sent my Mevo+ back to Orlando for them to repair on Dec. 8 and they received it on Dec. 11th.
Just got notification that they have shipped it back to me on Dec. 23rd and it will arrive on Jan. 4th. So, it will be about a month without the unit.
It appears that they have replaced the system board as the serial number is different now.
Were you able to get a loaner?

dvbeach Support tried a remote session with me Wednesday morning to see if they could get in and try a few things, but couldn't even connect to the Mevo+ since it never fully powers on. I had to send it in.. with holidays and extended shipping times, I think I'll be without it for a while.

They, kind of figured this would be the case seeing my videos, but knowing I needed it this month they gave a remote session a try anyway just in case which I appreciate the effort.

I asked about some kind of loaner or replacement, even if its an older unit, just anything with spin axis, and I even offered to pay shipping both ways and provide a credit card number as "collateral" to ensure I return it. The support guy said its not something they usually do, but forwarded on to some others to at least inquire.. havent heard back yet, but with holidays I'm sure it won't be a quick reply either.. understandable.. just bad timing.

I'll update if I hear anything. Assume it needs a new board as well since it won't fully boot up..

Hopefully it's just the battery. I think I read on another forum, maybe it was this one that they were able to remove battery and charge the battery on an external battery charger. Problem solved. Might be worth a try and good luck

Yeah, I'm sure Flightacope will take care of it. I dont have a charger that will charge that battery size or I would try to recondition it.. at this point I've tried everything I can.. up to support tomorrow.

I called a couple hours ago. They thought the startup sequence I described sounded a little off.. since mine begins its startup sequence immediately after plugging it in without touching the power button. They asked me to send a video of the sequence so they can check the lights and maybe troubleshoot the error.. they are going to call me back after they look at the video with the engineers.. hopefully I hear back today.
Working...
