  • New firmware update for Mevo+ (Version 0.13)

From the Flightscope Golf Facebook Group:

Version 0.13 is now available for download.

This update includes improvements to putting when using the Mevo+ with simulation and improved noise rejection when the Mevo+ is in a noisy environment.

I was one of the few that had some success with putting and chipping with TGC2019. I updated the firmware to the latest version and just spent 45 minutes on the putting green. The longest putt I can get the Mevo+ to read now is 18 feet. It doesn't matter how hard I roll the putt it's not going further than 18 feet.

Very frustrating and I wish I hadn't installed the update.

That stinks. Any way to revert back to older firmware?

In the Mevo+ Facebook groups, they are saying that support can revert to the older firmware. I don't have mine yet, so I don't have first hand knowledge.

I seen great improvements with the IOS version of E6. Literally every putt from 6' out read and read correctly. TGC 2019 I couldn't get any consistency....maybe one or two then 5 or 6 no reads. Anyone else struggling with tgc 2019?

I am having major issues with the new update and E6 Connect.
      1. Many putts are not registering at all.
      2. When on the green it will ghost putt and will keep doing it if you take a mulligan.
      3. You have to hit putts as hard as you can to get the ball to go anywhere.
      4. Chipping inside of 40 feet is not impossible...launch angle is ridiculous and goes 30 plus yards even if barely hit.
I had no issues previous to this update. Makes it very frustrating.

After playing 4 rounds and spending quite a bit of time on the range and putting green, here are the issues I see with this firmware update:

        - All kinds of no-reads on putting - probably around 30% (I had very few prior to the update)
        - I can't get a short chip to read (no issues before update)
        - Ghost putting anything on the green over 30 feet - and not good putts, usually 60 feet or more
        - Irons are 15-20 yards shorter
        - Driver is 40+ yards shorter
        - Can't get putts over 15 feet even close to the hole, no matter how hard I roll the putt

The short putting is improved but unfortunately, this latest firmware update has made the Mevo+ unusable for me. If I can't revert back to the old firmware or get this fixed I'll have to try to sell it.

Very frustrating as I was really happy with the unit prior to the update. If you don't have many issues with your current setup and haven't updated to the latest Firmware I strongly suggest you don't install the update.

I've heard if you contact flightscope they can go in and revert you back to the previous firmware. I will be calling at lunch to do that.

Did you notice the driver seemed to slice almost no matter what? The only thing that didn't slice was when I hit a pull... Even my irons are slicing now.

Flightscope has once again screwed the pooch. I have had to move indoors because of the weather. I have a decent 20ft putting and chipping area and 8 ft from mevo+ to tee. With my ceiling height all I can do is chip and putt. I could roll a few dozen putts from 10’ to 20’ pretty accurately, shorter putts were almost impossible. Yesterday I think I had 95 out of 100 chips register, although some carry distances were off and launch angles questionable at times. So all in all pretty good results. Fast forward to this morning, the only improvement is that short puts of 4’ to 6’ are picked up more then not. On the down side,
        1. longer putts no longer seem to be as accurate
        2. I get ghost putts that go off on crazy angles, had 1 go 77 yards, not feet but yards.
        3. Chipping in E-6, I had 5 out of 35 register and all had less then accurate results.
        4. Tried some chipping with FS golf app, (yes I know it’s not really designed to read chips but it has worked ok in the past), I had 1 chip out of 70 get picked up and that registered no information other than 0.0 spin axis.
The weather seems to be half decent today, I am almost tempted to set up outside and see what I get but I really don’t want to get anymore frustrated then I already am. Do these updates get tested in the real world or just in a Flightscope bubble? Sh!t like this leaves me scratching my head and saying wtf.

Sounds like I should skip this version. I finally found a spot where I can reliably (sorta) putt, so I'm definitely not risking breaking that

Just got off the phone with FS support. If I had a computer that could support a dual WiFi configuration they could roll back my mevo+ to the previous firmware. However I don’t have that capability at this time. If you are experiencing issues call FS support @(407) 412-9400. The more calls the faster this will be addressed or the faster you can get a rollback. Best of luck to everyone and if you have not updated yet I recommend that you don’t.

This is interesting...I play exclusively on iOS e6 (do not own TGC) and found the update to work great. I had horrible misreads prior to the update (lucky to get 1/10 putts read on e6) and now most all read pretty well. Not sure what the difference would be. In playing around a bit last night I did notice that it seemed to pick up putts more on the left side of the unit (vs the layout guide when you buy the unit says putt to the right)

my setup is 7ft Mevo to ball and 10ft ball to screen with one continuous/flat surface.

today i downloaded the new update of the mevo plus.
i tried chip on e6, and none of them worked.
I was using the ball with the dots, so I tried without and he could see all the chips without problems.
the putts slightly worse, before I had very few missreads, inveve today I have had much more.

Thanks to Shankz and rhart I phoned Flightscore support and they remoted into my laptop and reverted back to the old firmware. They also said they are working on correcting these issues with the latest firmware and another update should be available next week. I reported all the issues I was experiencing with them.

I must say the customer service was great. I'm glad I'm able to use my Mevo+ again and hopefully they get this stuff corrected soon.

I tried chipping with balls that had no dots and just about all were read, went back to dotted balls and had issues again. My brain is scrambled after trying different balls, distances, configurations, and apps. Hope this gets fixed soon as I don’t have access to a computer that has dual WiFi capabilities.

If you have a free usb port, you can get a usb wifi adapter for under $20 which will give you dual wifi.

It’s not that I don’t have a free USB port, the old desktop I have does not pick up the WiFi signal from the mevo+. If I got one of these adapters would it allow me to pick up the 5g signal from the mevo+? Is this what your referring too? https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-usb-w...8682041&sr=8-3 If not could you recommend one?

Hi, I signed up just for this topic. I've been using the mevo+ for a few months now and putting has always been the weakness of the product (for me anyway). Before the upgrade, I almost NEVER had ghost putts though, and those will literally ruin a round of golf because you don't have time to mulligan a mevo+ misread.

I'll note, that according to the noise checker that flightscope/others have pointed me to, my environment is pretty much noiseless

I'm eager to go home today and try IOS, as it seems like folks here have had success with this upgrade in IOS.

All my experiences with the upgrade have been on the PC, both with TGC2019 and E6.

JayJo13 is definitely onto something with the "distance" putts.. for me, as soon as I upgraded the firmware, I tried it out in TGC2019 - my experience is this:

                    - if i choose the putter, from the tee box or fairway, ghost putts occur immediately. This seems to me to have something to do with the length of putts, or how far you are from the hole in the software.
                    - if I am on the green within 15ft or so, putting seems to work, anything much longer than that and I get a ghost putt.
                    - I tested this with practice putting and confirmed that longer putts ghost, closer putts don't.

I tested this in E6 and got similar results...

so, for now, I'm just opening up the gimme rules, not putting, and trying not to accidentally select putter from the tee or fairway lol.

I have enjoyed the product mostly, I hope Flightscope reads this forum and finds a fix for us over the holidays!

                    Happy Holidays to all,
                    JP

Exact same conclusion as you with the ghost putting.

I called FlightScope today and got the firmware back to 0.12 and no issues with ghosting anymore.

In my setup only issue I have is trying to do bump and runs close to the green. Either no read or a flop shot.

Do you have a link to the noise checker tool you mentioned?

Question: How do you get on the flightscope firmware updates email distribution list? Thanks. I don't get any emails from them strangely..

Good question, I don't get them either. Maybe if you purchases directly though Flightscope? I purchased mine through Par2Pro
