Noob, we'll go through your set-up step by step and figure it out. Before that, try a longer putt to give it chance to get a read on it, say 13' -16' (no dot on ball!) I'll be back tomorrow as it's getting late.

So, I was actually able to get 3 putts in a row to read, and they were accurate. But then the E6 crashed which has never happened before and I was unable to connect to the Mevo+ with my iPad again. I’ll keep tinkering, but it’s possible, just possible, that putting is better with 0.16. Need to understand why TGC couldn’t read the putts.Comment

Putting works good in the new software 0.16. Input from 4 feet in front of the unit. I find it reads the direction well but up and down on the speed of the putt. Chipping is working as well but soft chips are hit and miss. No issues wit( long pitching.Comment

Cheers for the update Bubba! I'm worried about loading the new firmware as everything is working as good as i could hope for apart from little bump and run chips, I need to use my wedges for good results but would like to use the old 'Texas wedge'! I'll keep my eyes on other comments before I dive in. Can you putt from the fringe ok?Comment

Hello all, this is my first post here in forum. Thanks for all of you sharing experience in this forum. It has been great help for me. Switched from Skytrak to Mevo+ about month ago and I am using it mainly with TGC2019. It works really well expect short chips under 15 meters, I am using gimmies on the green. After updating to 0.16 it did not make difference to short chipping. Few weeks ago it began to struggle reading also longer clubs, hybrids and 3w and driver. Then I tried setup. with 16 degrees angle, normal shots 2,1 meters (7 feet) in front of the unit and short chipping 125 cm (4 feet) from the unit. No more problems with longer shots, reading short chipping under 15 meters about 5 to 7 out of ten. Even reads putting. Does anyone have same kind of experience?Comment

Hoohi, yes, I have the same issues. I haven't even tried the short chips and putting yet as it didn't work at all really so I just gave up on them. I'm hopeful after reading of some success with the .16 update. Probably will not get to it until tomorrow. I'm also hopeful after reading about Neil Ally's set up. My only problem right now...I think is that the hitting mat and the mevo are NOT on the same level. My hitting mat is at 1-1/2" up from the main level. I wondered if that was the biggest issue, but seeing Neil Ally's setup gives me some hope that maybe I can have another mat on a different level for putting. I'd tried that before and no success what so ever. I even tried putting from different spots in front of the mevo.

Great post!
Just got my Mevo + this past weekend. Haven't really got to played a full round yet. Been trying to measure out all of the placements of the mats. Was actually going to post a question about it, until I saw this post.
My current setup (e6 connect only right now, hopefully TGC 2019 soon):
-Hitting mat, where the tee spot is 8ft away from the unit
-Putting mat (about 1.5' wide) right next to the hittiing mat, with the putting dot about 7ft from the unit.
-Chipping was about 7.5ft from the unit
Tee spot to screen is about 8.5 ft. I can probably move back to 9ft, but any more than that the garage openner may come into play. The ceiling height is about 12ft, so the projector shouldn't interfere with the unit.
Unit is set to 12 degress (using the template).
These measurements are base on videos and posts I have seen. The results are pretty good. My irons are going the distances I would expect (in the range of hitting good, bad, flush). I have a little ISS with my woods right now, so I haven't really gotten a hold of one yet to determine those.
Putting seems ok (meaning that it is reading my putts). I did notice shot chips are a little hit or miss (going very far or way to short).
I have really not had any non-read shots, so I figured that is the best news since everything else is just getting the unit set up perfectly.
I may try some of these shorter distances this weekend though. They are very interesting.
My main question right now is, when lining up the unit, should I put the "red line" on the tee or right on the line where the hitting mat and putting mat meet or as suggested above (just center the unit in the middle of the putting mat)

Lewdog, try to keep all the surfaces the same height, especially from the mevo to the hitting areas. It doesn’t like deviations in surface heights.

Neil, I wish I could. LOL. But right now it's a phased build.
Which means the leveling of all surfaces is yet to come. However, with the new update, putting is actually working awesome. I still have some things to sort out on distance of putts, but I was able to play an entire round and I don't know that I had any missed reads.

So, my my putting and hitting surface is about 2 inches above the garage floor where the mevo usually sits and it' about 4 feet from unit to starts of mats. Last night I set the unit on a 2 inch block to bring it level with hitting surface and seemed to work better. However, there is a lower surface (floor) in that 4 foot space from unit to mat. Is this OK?

Thanks! I have been playing around with the positioning right now. Still having problems with very short putts...Like with 5 ft gimmies on e6 Connect and having a 6 foot putt. It is a little tough to get it to read what I think a 6 foot putt would be. I am upgrading to TGC 2019 so maybe that will be different.

I have been having consistently issues with my putting and short chips since I got my mevo plus. My setup was:
-Mevo - putting 7’
-Mevo - hitting 8’
-Hitting - screen 13’
-Mevo angle 11 degrees
-Mevo positioned between hitting and putting areas
This setup I used for about the last 2-3 months, accepting that short chips would be unpredictable and putting under 10’ wouldn’t read. After reading this thread I was inspired to play around with my setup. I now have it as:
-Mevo - putting 3.5’
-Mevo - hitting 4.5’
-Hitting - screen 13’
-Mevo angle 11 degrees
-Mevo positioned behind putting area
I spent about an hour on the range testing every club to see how it would read and see if LA or ball speed was affected.
-Putter worked nearly flawless, I was able to tap in 3’-5’ putts with ease. The only misread I noticed was the occasional left or right launch that the straight putt option would eliminate anyway...
-Wedges worked perfect, low pump and runs didn’t pop up in the air with crazy high launch angles, and flop shots didn’t shoot way too far forward either.
-Irons work very well, only issue I saw was my 7i seemed to be carrying 20-30 yards more than usual. So not sure if I was just dialed in with that club today or if having the mevo only 4.5’ away from the hitting area was affecting the numbers.
-Woods had no noticeable difference other than I felt like a couple shots had really high side spin numbers. I didn’t spend enough time with my driver and 3 wood to determine if this was a persistent issue or just me.
Overall very happy with the performance with the new setup, I might need to modify my entire setup to allow for putting from 3.5’, but hitting to be more like 7’-8’.Comment

It's interesting that all of us users are tinkering with setups and distances from the unit, and FS has not moved off their recommended distances. I wonder if we're sacrificing data accuracy for fewer misreads. Would love to hear their opinion on hitting drives and irons for 4.5'. If its equally accurate, that opens up a larger market for them since the total space drops. For me, it would allow longer ball flight which I understand would lead to better data. -
I will check tonight! I know I don’t have the latest version though... One thing I’ve noticed about this new setup after much more testing, putting and chipping is working better than ever. However the closer the mevo gets to the tee position for full shots, the more side spin it starts to read. I’m assuming that since the mevo was only 4.5’ from my tee position and since it was centred over the putting mat and probably 6” offset of the tee position, the mevo is so close its miss reading the horizontal launch angle. I ended up splitting the difference and having the mevo setup as follows:
-Mevo - putting 5’
-Mevo - chipping 6’
-Mevo - hitting 7’
-Hitting - screen 13’
-Mevo angle 11 degrees
-Mevo positioned behind putting area
This setup works best for me, reads accurate full shots with all clubs, short chips are much more consistent, and putting is nearly perfect now.

Thanks for the detailed post Neil. Im getting very frustrated with putting in E6 on the Mevo+. I wouldnt care as much but I have joined the E6tour online league and they have removed the no putt option - so if i want to play there i have to enable putting. The mevo has been very inconsistent for me with putting, it will work fine for 6 or 7 holes then I will get a putt where i get over 20 no reads, all from the same rough location! When that happens i have to try and chip whilst on the green - which generally kills the score from that hole - annoying!
Short chips are not too bad, its just putting for me. However im probably putting from around 6 ft and not directly in front of the unit - I will give your measurements a try tonight ad let you know how i go.

Neil Ally - you are a life saver! I just went on the the putting green on E6 hit about 30 putts with only 3 misreads. Fantastic! Makes you wonder why flightscope are not suggesting these measurements to those having issues? I was seriously considering selling the unit and going with an alternative, probably at a much higher cost!Comment

So question. See my attached diagram. I noticed in your setup, you have the Mevo Plus set up to the right side of screen/net (which ideally wanted to do as well). When you calibrate the camera is it aligned on the right side of screen (orange arrow) or middle screen (black arrow). If orange arrow, then does that not mess up the alignment on screen target which is centered? i.e. if you have the camera aligned right and your target in TGC2019 is centered on the projection screen will it thing you hit right to left? Hope that makes sense.Comment

Neil , Can you share what settings your using for TGC? See below. I have tried your complete setup along with more than a dozen others and putting still does not work consistently.. Although 3.5ft from the sensor does seem a bit better and it does seem to work mainly better for E6 not TGC.. With E6 I can get the put to roll at about 4-5mph and with TGC the slowest I have got it down to was about 7-8mph along with a lot of misreads.
