  • Mevo+ 2 quick questions

    Hi

I've just ordered a Mevo Plus. It'll be exclusively for outdoor use in the garden, with a net, I don't have the indoor height required. Two quick questions:

    1) Can you charge the Mevo Plus whilst using it? I know the battery life is limited, we have outdoor plug points.

    2) If the mat is laid on grass, is it worth me bothering about putting? is there a good solution to putting with the Mevo + using a mat laid on grass? I think the roll up mats will likely be too thin and you'll feel every bump from the grass beneath. Are there any hard-backed putting mats that are long enough to consider using outside, or should I just 'gimme' anything on the green?

    Thanks
    Mark

From FS Support: "The specs for the Power Supply should be 5V DC +/- 5%; >2 A, so both the 2.1A or 2.4A will be fine." I bought a battery pack from FS with my unit last year and it is a 2.1A output. There recent FAQ said 2.4A or 3A at 5V (see below). I questioned if I should still use and there was it was fine.

You may want to consider a battery pack instead of house power, as all power is not clean from the utility by the time it makes it to your house. You can see examples of this if you search the forum for the interference app. When I used the interference program there was no difference if it was off Mevo+ battery, external battery or house power. Others had some interference when plugged into house.

At my prior house had very dirty power and use a power conditioner for my audio equipment. In this house I don't need the power conditioner.

    Hope this helps

As for your question about the putting mat, you can just attach a roll-up mat to a piece of wood. I did that very thing. Just used super glue. Very easy to do and it allowed me to match the height of the putting mat with the height of the hitting mat so it's a nice even surface all the way to the screen.

Unless you like simulator putting, I would skip it. I didnt like it on the various commercial simulators I went to and I dont like it on the Mevo+. It works in my setup but dont like sim putting. If you want to practice putting might be worth buying the Exputt. about $400 https://exputt.com/
