Mevo+ vs Skytrak - Shot Data

I had access to both my Mevo+ and Skytrak, so thought I would compare some data. See attached spreadsheet. I used a new Maxfli 2019 with one dot facing away from Mevo+ and the logo facing Skytrak. Mevo+ was set to standard conditions, long indoor mode (7ft ball to unit and 13 ft ball to screen), medium hardness.

Let me know if you have any questions

Would be cool to see the per club averages by device. I'm at work or I would do it myself. Might try to do that later though.

Seems like at a quick pass Skytrak had consistently lower total yardage by 5-10 yards.

Which did you feel most fit your game?

It did seem the Skytrak recorded lower ball speed thus lower carry distance than the Mevo+. Unfortunately I am not a consistent enough ball striker to know which one is correct when compared to outdoors and the actual atmospheric conditions and wind.

If I had to choose I would say the Mevo+, but I could be slightly biased as this was the unit I purchased.

Edit: I would also add I would think photometric technology in and indoor setting should have the edge for ball speed over radar

This confirms the results of my comparison that the Skytrak has a problem with correctly pinpointing the spin axis and lateral landing.

I dont think Skytrak uses spin decay in their algorithms, and thus will show more curvature. Since Skytrak struggles with horizontal launch angle. I think they state they are +/-2 degrees. I would assume if horizontal launch is off, it would also affect the spin axis calculation.

I know Skytrak doesn't use spin decay, it just increases the error for lateral landing. However, the spin decay does not affect the incorrect reading of the spin axis in Skytrak.

Interesting to see a big gap in Club Head Speed btw the two. Which one do you think has more accurate in terms of the Club Head Speed?

Mevo+ for the club head speed hands down. Skytrak does not measure club head speed, it has an algorithm that estimates calculate the club head speed based on launch conditions.
