Firmware update is available now.
Tried a couple of quick tests on the issues I had on 0.17; short chips from the fringe that wasn't working before are now working nicely, same goes for 8-10 ft putts. There seems to be a very slight delay in the shot pickup but at least they're getting picked up. Will do a more extensive testing later today, hoping for the best!

Tried fw .18. I'm moving from fw .12 where I had almost 0 issues and have tried out .16 and .17 and rolled back both to .12.
Below are some thoughts on fw .18
Driver -- seems to be better launch angle. Spin remains higher, and maybe a bit higher than .12. Didn't notice any noticeable difference in distance.
Irons -- higher spin than .12, which is more realistic. .12 was low in iron spin IMO
Chipping -- higher spin than .12. Helps and gives more realistic green spin. Trajectory and LA appears to be more accurate
Putting -- had to absolutely crush putts within 20 feet. Had Fast Putting at 0 (not sure if that matters)
From my review, it looks like everything was upgraded, or remained adequate, with the exception of putting which is now unplayable. However, I'm working with FS support to see if there is anything we can figure out on putting because everything was good, maybe even great.

Tested the 0.18 firmware last evening in our studio. HUGE improvements on putting and chipping. Our environment:- 11 ft ball to screen, 7 ft ball to Mevo+, flat putting turf surface screen to Mevo+
- Ball with metallic sticker facing up
- Mallet putter
- Standard sim tilt to Mevo+ (using red plastic template)
- E6 Connect on PC, using the practice ranges
- Mevo+ running off battery
- Short chipping now very accurate with maybe 10% no-reads on very short (a few feet of carry) chips.
- Putting was the biggest improvement. We got putts from 4 ft on up reading very consistently for distance and accuracy. The shorter the putt, the higher the % of no-reads, maybe 25% no-reads from 4-6 feet, 10% 6-10 ft, 0% 10 ft and up. Had zero mis-reads.
- No changes noticed in full iron shots (which have always been good). Will do more testing with driver soon.

Three of us played 9 holes with the new firmware. Have to agree with Ron's assessment above except smaller percentages for us. We had 1 no read on a putt. That is it. Prior to play we also purposely practiced (TGC2019) short chips (6 -10 yards) from fringe including bump and run 8 irons. Zero no reads and they tracked correctly. Purposely setup 40ft and 65ft putts. Guess what? We were able to hit putts in the range 10-12 MPH as measured by Mevo+!. We definitely had to retrain ourselves from the bad habits of dealing with the no-read chips on 0.17 where we found ourselves hitting them harder than needed just to get them to read. Now you have to chip them as expected for the distance required!!
Definitely an improvement over 0.17.
