New to MEVO+. A few questions

Hello all, first soem background. I'm not really a golfer but my neighbor is. He has a 60 X 100 barn that is fully insulated and geothermal heated and cooled. A few years back we put together an Optishot system w/ impact screen. I like the tech side of things so he handles the construction (he's a custom home builder) and I handle the tech part. Some questions:

    1. I've read about the correct distances for best results but am not clear on what is the best. Currently we are 14' ball to screen and 8' MEVO+ to ball.

    2. Will the PC software show me how "dirty" our environment is as far as the radar is concerned?

    3. When I tell the FS Golf app the distances (ball to screen/mevo to ball) does that set them for E6 as well?

    4. Is there any way or are there plans to allow the MEVO+ to connect to my WiFi instead of creating its own?

5.What is "slow swing" and when should I use it?

    6. What happens when you press and hold the power button? I was confused when I had it plugged into the charger and held it past the initial beep trying to turn it off.

    7. Why does the FS Golf app say that weather conditions are locked?

    Thank you for the info.

    1. Looks fine for indoor mode. Definitely fine for short indoor.

    3. I'll look but it's been ages since I set up e6. I don't remember the settings being saved then.

    4. As far as I'm aware, no to both.

    5. Never used it and I can't find any information on it other than when it was patched into the Xi. Good question.

I'd add a net on top for extra protection esp. for lob or bunker shots.

We do have a net on top, its just hard to see. What's the best option for a high quality screen? I see some of these sim Chanel's on youtube and their screens look nice and flat. Ours has wrinkles in it from the way it hangs. We do watch movies on this also. I have our 9000 watt Bose PA set up in 5.1 ch surround sound so it makes a nice theater.

Golf impact screen are not the best for image quality. Even the nicest ones aren't really made for reproducing great images. If you are running a cheap projector that isn't running 4k content then this may not matter?

1 distances perfect for indoor mode

2 you might be able to still find a link to the old interference software, they removed it from their website, but I think I saw someone posted in on their share drive. If you find it, it is auto scaling the graph and has different colors, I think it was green good, orange OK and red bad. If you are having problems FS Golf can take a sample of your environment and send it FS support. they will analyze if its an environment issue.

3 you have to set the distances and mode in each software, FS Golf, FS Skill, E6, Awesome golf, TGC, etc. Each software should save the settings once entered

5 In one of the webinars they defined slow swing speed of approximately 80mph with driver or less, if I remember correctly

7 If you had internet connection when starting FS Golf it takes your local weather conditions and you cannot change it. You are able to turn wind on and off. If it does not have internet when you start FS Golf, you can select Standard Conditions at Sea Level or input your temp, humidity and elevation. On the X3 and other higher end units, you can use their environmental optimizer to compare your shot results under different playing conditions (elevation, temp, humidity, wind). I have not used this as have the Mevo+ but saw it on one of their webinars.

If you live in a cold climate and are practicing in the winter, it will use your outdoor temperatures. I would estimate you gain/lose a yard for every 10 deg F of temperature. So if you are practicing indoors but it is -20 F and you typically play outdoors in at 70, you shots would be coming up about 9 yards short. It is all about air density, the warmer the temperature, the higher the humidity and the higher the elevation, the lower the air density and the farther your ball with travel. I live in Michigan so near sea level. I leave mine set at standard sea level conditions.

Thanks for the info. Any idea what the old software is called (question #2). I do understand density altitude. Learned all about that when I got my private pilot license. The +/- 1 yard per 10 deg is good to know.
