I heard rumours quite a while ago that Flightscope were looking at releasing their software for PC? Is there any more on this? Id dearly love to be able to use my projector with FSgolf apps - im using the E6 range - which is fine tbh but it would be nice to have different options.

While you wait for a Windows version of Flightscope's software, you could always download an Android emulator and run the current FS software through Windows.
Alex.Morgan did a video on this a while ago and it seems to work well. The emulator he used is called MemuPlay - https://www.memuplay.com/

This is good news. I was just looking at the Mevo + and am mostly a Android user (Phone/Chromebook) but do still have a Windows PC. This is the one thing putting me off from picking up a Mevo Plus is that I don't want to purchase a $800 - $1200 iPad just so I can use it. Is there already an Android option with the standard Mevo + package or would the emulator need to be used?
Otherwise I guess I'll be waiting or going Skytrak.Last edited by Hawk45; 07-13-2021, 01:54 PM.

Hawk45 from the e6 Connect webpage these are the minimum requirements:
iPad Pro 1 or later
iPad 5 or later
iPad Air 3 (Current Version)
iPad Mini 5 (Current Version)
iPhone 8 or later
You can maybe get away with less but performance will probably suffer, so it's down to how much that means to you.
I think e6 Connect basic is 300/yr but I'm not interested in subscriptions and haven't looked into it. I'm more of a "buy it once and use it when I want" sort of person - that's one of the issues I have with Skytrak.

I ended up using BlueStacks emulator after reading this article: (https://www.androidauthority.com/bes...for-pc-655308/). Works great and both the FS Skills and FS Golf app worked just fine with my Mevo+. I was surprised - sound, video, and WIFI connection to the mevo+ all just worked. No difference in performance from my old Android tablet as far as I can see. I do have to exit the emulator before switching to e6 or the connection to the Mevo will cut out but that's not a big deal. I paired this with a cheap wireless keyboard+touchpad combo and now I can use e6 or FS from a single computer which is awesome.

I don't want to plug in a tablet/phone and change the projector input every time I want to switch to FS apps. And I'd have to run a cable to the user input location which I don't want to do. With an emulator, the PC is the only thing that is connected to the projector and my wireless keyboard/mouse pad is the single interface to use to control it. I just find it a lot nice and simpler to use this way.

Has anyone else here had any luck getting an android emulator to work? I'm not having much luck yet, app stops responding and never shows ballflight.

I'm running Win 10 and the latest bluestacks emulator with a USB wifi dongle. I did connect my google account to the emulator (as if it's a new phone). I connect to the mevo wifi in windows, then use a desktop icon for the various android apps (FS skills, FS golf) to launch the emulator. Put in in full screen mode and it's been working great. I've had the video signal drop out once in about 20 hours but I don't know if that was the emulator, GPU, or HDMI cable and it came right back up.

I'm considering selling my Skytrak and buying the Mevo+...So what I was told today is you have to buy the upgraded software to run it on a PC to run through a projector and show it on a hitting screen, and it's either a $300.00 yearly fee or a one time charge of $2500.00...LOL....No joke....not in my life time would I be held hostage like this.Originally posted by nickcurrie View PostI heard rumours quite a while ago that Flightscope were looking at releasing their software for PC? Arguable that you're already being held hostage for the GIP they make you subscribe to just to use sim software for the ST.
But no, it's completely possible to use a lightning to HDMI adapter to stream the included e6 to the projector directly from the phone/tablet it's running on. The graphics might not be the best on the iOS version so that's something to consider if you're bothered by needing pretty scenery in 4K.

That's only for e6 Connect, though. You can just use the included iOS e6 version with 5 courses (no online play) for free and project that.
TGC2019 is also compatible with the M+, has more courses and is half three one-time purchase price of e6 with no recurring fees. Creative Golf may work with it as well.

Have you tried the 'Your Phone' app built into Windows? It connects to most Android phones - has very good connection to Samsung phones. It will then run the app from your connected phone within Windows, or you can emulate your phone screen directly.Originally posted by rjheard View PostHas anyone else found Android emulator / phone model that works for Flightscope apps? I tried a couple emulators and many phone models but the graphics continue to freeze and the app stops responding.
I'm not sure of the resizing of the FS apps using the Your Phone app. It could be restrictive.

I personally have used Samsung DEX for PC with my Galaxy S21 phone (works with Note 10/20, or S20/S21 or above) to project the FS Golf app through my Windows 10 PC which is hooked up to the projector and it works perfectly fine. Just plug the phone to the PC via normal USB cable, and then you can use your phone like another virtual PC through the computer. Quite easy actually. But yeah, it means you still need a phone to to that. https://www.samsung.com/us/explore/dex/

Sadly, MEMU doesn't work as Google Play shows FSGolf as not being compatible with the "device".. The minimum according to FS is android 6 and MEMU emulates 7.1 so I'm screwed there.
Bluestack does work nicely but quickly stops responding and eventually crashes. Appears the graphics are too intense or something.. tried switching to non range view but it craps out before It responds to my input.
I tried various emulator resolutions and memory configurations...
Tried DirectX/OpenGL...
Very disappointing as I want to use my E6/gaming machine for training with FS Golf (to get full Pro Package metrics) on the projector so I don't have to fiddle with a phone with a small screen..
FSGolf is not great at scaling for phones and takes up half the screen on my high res premium phone with just the menus!
If only FS would wake up and release a proper Desktop app already!
I'll post back if I figure out something..
