  • New FS Skills App

Just in case any Xi or Xi+ owners haven't updated their firmware recently, Flightscope have launched a new FS Skills app that replaces the Xi Skills app. Open the current app and you should see a message appear in the top right of the screen with instructions of how to upgrade the app for free.

First impressions on the new app are good, you can see proper trajectories including height! Theres loads of new layouts and data to use too so should help all improve.

Hopefully they do an upgrade in the Xi+ App soon to match!

I will answer my self here.

When you install the app you can see all the data but as soon as you connect the ipad to the unit its only Xi+ data that is displayed and the other data is removed from the app.

But there are some good stuff still in the app like avg distance, avg ball speed, avg smash, avg launch angle etc.

So need to hack the firmware on the xi unit.

Also can't remember if it was this tread or another but someone put need a flightscope rep on here. Are u mad, all the talk is about how to get extra info from xi units without paying, why would you want a rep.

I'm seeing the data whilst connected to the unit or not. Firmware version says 3.09 in settings. Here some screen grabs.

I've also downoaded the "Flightscope" App (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/flig...430311344?mt=8) all seems ok in terms of access, but it won't adjust the tilt even though it says connected. I have no space at home to try some shots to see if they get picked up, so will so when next at the range with it (possibly tomorrow)...

And you run Xi and not Xi+?

I assume the club data is from the shot stats view, which is greyed out in my app.

And you get that app to work on the Xi?

                    Xi+

Sometimes the shot stats view is greyed out sometimes not, when its not I view it. I can't work out when an why it will show yet though, though it might be to do with the target type but have now found that to not correlate.....

The app connects and I can get into the different screens, but the app won't show if the unit has setup the "tilt/roll" or "battery" correctly in the Sensor Status option, so I'm thinking its not fully connected...

Level it with the Xi+ app. Turn the app off double clicking the back button and swipe the app and then start the app you downloaded/linked and it should stay leveled.

Post as soon as you know if it captures or not.

It shouldnt, i believe that app is for kudo/prime.

I had confirmed from the Facebook user group that it wouldn't work. Rubbish!

well if you bought it, why not try it.

Seriously, FS doesnt seem to have app security as their forte. :-)

And the one that stated it on the user group might be a FS rep/dev.

Oh yes I will definitely give it a try on my next range session regardless and report back.
