I have noticed in one of the more recent FS golf app releases that Flightscope has included a target hitting zone, represented by a red box and a white ball. I saw this feature first on one of the videos Flightscope had shot during the PGA week this year. However, in my setup the target hitting zone red box is nowhere near my actual hitting zone. For example, my unit is set to 8ft from unit to hitting zone, yet the red box shows up at about only 3-4 feet from the unit. Regardless of how I adjust the numbers in the app, I cannot manipulate it to land on my actual measured target hitting zone. I don't think it is affecting my numbers much, but would like to know if others have seen this problem or have a fix. I did reach out to Flightscope and they told me to set it up according to their instructions, which of course was no help as I am already doing that.

Did you try moving it to 7' behind the ball, and/or adjusting the tilt angle of your Mevo+? If not, might try those things.- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

Hi Ron, thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I did try changing the angle from 7 degrees all the way to 16 degrees. When I moved it to 16 the box disappeared completely because it was no longer in view I guess. When I moved it down to 7 degrees, it marginally moved the box but still nowhere near my actual hitting location. When I physically moved my unit 1 foot closer (7ft from hitting area), it also moved the box some but still no where near it. I also adjusted the distance in the settings, 7ft - 9ft with minimal impact. I sent a follow up email to Flightscope and they seemed to confirm there is something wrong with the feature and they are working on fixing it.

I have the same problem, but my red box hovers 4-5 inches above the hitting mat. Regardless of distance or tilt, it is not possible to get it down on the hitting mat.
This came all of a sudden two weeks ago. I can not trace it to any update. I estimate that my shots will be about 10-20 meters shorter than they should be.
Have had email contact with flightscope for about two weeks but have not yet found a solution. Sad that you also have problems but nice to see that we are not alone. Maybe a function where you can set the sight even in height would be a good solution.

Hi, I had this issue with the hovering red line. They replied it was a new "feature" and is now designed so for all Flightscope models. FS Skills also has it now. I'm a bit confused as to how to correctly align now, as there is also a "ball", which doesn't line up with my actual ball on the mat when I hover the red line over my actual ball.

I had the same question and posted to FS with a few other questions... Their answers are below... Still may be a bit confusing, I have not yet followed up.
The target alignment has been updated to a new version. The red line needs to be centre to where you want to hit the ball(in your case centre of the screen) The matt with the white ball will indicate where the ball needs to be placed. The difference between the two is due to the camera being on one side of the unit and the radar panels on the other. The red matt will indicate to where you can go in any direction and still expect the radar to pick up the shot with accuracy
Our new software and firmware has allowed the device optimal tilt to be at 12Degrees
We are looking into the PC version this year. It will be either through a PC software or the integration of Android apps to Windows 11.

Whatever they say, when the Mevo+ is not leveled with the mat this is almost impossible.
i have changed the ball height setting or put something under the Mevo but it isn’t perfect.
they should describe the best setup process for these cases.

I've never seen a problem with a "valley" between Mevo+ and the ball. We have a 1.5" drop for the 3' between Mevo+ and raised turf, then another 4' to ball. Why are you at 9' tee to Mevo+? We like 7-8'.
-
I thought further back the better, radar has more time to track. 9' for me has it against the wall... is 7-8' better for indoors?
I have not tried to putt but short chips have been inconsistent.

In my experience, ball to screen/net distance is far more important than the distance from Mevo+ to ball. You can get away with hitting 7.5' or 7' in front of the launch monitor and get better results if it means more flight time for the radar to read.

I recall seeing someone say it’s not good to have a valley between mevo and the ball. But it’s ok if the mevo is below the surface it can be corrected for.
