  • Mevo+ Battery run time

How long are the run times, you're getting on your Mevo+

I start with a completely charged battery, and have it plugged into a 3A wall charger with a 15 foot usb cord.

I timed it the other day, and only got 3 hours of run time, till the unit turned off and started to charge back up.

I would think plugged in it should be indefinite..

If I'm on battery only, I haven't timed it, but would guess I'm 45 minutes to an hour of run time, maybe less..

    tks

Do you plug the Mevo in before turning it on? You should plug the mevo on, wait about 20 seconds for it to start charging and then turn Mevo on.

That 15 foot USB cord could be causing issues, i.e a voltage drop by the time it gets to the Mevo and it can't charge the battery as quickly as you are using it. One of the reasons the Mevo plus comes with a stupid short cable is people were frying the early units using a long USB cable and/or under powered charging block.

I use an external battery pack and I wear out before it runs out.

I started with an external battery, and the cable the mevo came with but, it did the same thing, I thought going straight to power would help, it didn't.
when I was using battery the mevo would still die first, and i still had 1/2 to 3/4 left in the battery pack..

i will try plugging it in first.

-i usually disconnect from where i store it.
      -connect to pc wireless
-then plug into the long cable next to my simm..

        I tried it tonight...
I plugged it in first, blue lights were blinking, showing charging, waited, then powered on..
played range, and was dead at right around 3 hours.
it could be my battery, what are other people getting, if its over 5 hours on external battery or plugged in, i will try to service my Mevo..

        tks

I don't use mine plugged in unless I've drained the battery that session, but it'll increase in charge until 100% while still using FS apps or E6. I turned off all the battery saving nonsense as well so it never shuts the radar off.

This is how I use my device- (works for me)

I will charge my device to 100%.
Use the device for probably 1-1 1/2 hrs until i see red lights on the device
plug in my power bank and continue playing.
My device has never shut off as i keep my power bank is fully charged.
my sessions are usually 2-3 hours long.

Me too, assuming the session lasts long enough to discharge the battery below 20% and I use an extension cord to charge with the included block/USB cable.

yea looks like there is something wrong, my device wont charge while being used.
i start at 100% and it just continues to drain down till it shuts off while plugged in, after it shuts off then it will start to charge back up..

found the issue, it was my fault, i purchased a device specific charge cord for this device to test, and keeps charge all day.
i was using a generic usb cord and the mevo DID NOT like it....
          thanks all for the responses
