    Smash factor

The best known smash factor guidelines are provided by Trackman....They have the 7-iron smash at 1.33, base don 90mph club speed and 120mph ball speed.

At the moment I am getting an average smash of 1.36 (87mph club head speed and 122mph ball speed) ...my best smashes are north of 1.40 and my mishits still reach 1.33 (or thereabouts).

I think I get these higher numbers because it underestimates my swing speed. Is anyone else getting smash factors greater that the Trackman PGA averages

Given that Flightscope and Trackman measure things in slightly different ways, are these Trackman based smash numbers still relevant for Flightscope users?

I don't find them that helpful as we don't know the loft of the average 7 iron measured on TM, is it about 32? The stronger loft leads to greater ballspeeds and higher smash. Personally think 1.33 is pretty low for a 7i. Tend to get the same as you off a 79/80 delivery and fairly neutral path, FTP with fairly std AoA.

FS have issued a document which gives their smash for a 7i at about 1.38. Would take this with a pinch of salt as another document they issued gave impossible carries for driver at certain clubhead speeds

It's a bugbear of mine as think it would be very useful to have some industry stds at different CS, with a neutral delivery. In the same way that we know anything below a 1.47 driver smash needs a little work.
