  • Major soft/firmware update coming in Jan?

I just heard that major update for either software or firmware coming in January. Anyone can confirm this and it's contents?

I believe this is their firmware update that allows total distance of 15' rather than 23'.

Ahhh.. I see. I read somewhere on this forum that you can do so using some kind of PC software with direct help from Flightscope.

Who is your source? Someone from FS?

When I asked Flightscope support about Indoor firmware with support for 15 feet indoor setup. They stated that Firmware final testing was ongoing.

Also asked Trugolf about E6 cloud and Xi support and was told:
          - The Xi and E6 will work together soon, the Cloud has not be launched yet.

Both these things could be in a new firmware release I guess?

Flightscope told me a couple days ago that they planed to release after the PGA show. (firmware for 15ft). Wish it was sooner, that's halfway thru winter...

I believe the source is an industry insider who talked to Flightscope tech. He did not say what the update is, but a major update.

BTW, I just had my first session with Flightscope. It was in my tiny garage with a net set up about 16~17 ft from the unit, and 8ft to the tee. It worked fine except few shots. It was very hard to align to the target even with the video alignment, but soon got a hang of it. I didn't even have to use the metal sticker too. If anything, AoA seemed a little off compared to regular TrackMan number, but I will take it to the range tomorrow and try it outside. Also, seemed like too much roll on shorter clubs. Too bad I can't adjust it to the range ball.

What is everybody connecting to there flightscope with? I'm using an iPad 4. But am having all kinds of issues. Shots not registering an disconnecting from the flightscope. I need to take it outside an see if its doing it outside also.

While hitting in your garage is the unit facing a metal garage door? This caused me issues and ended up with me moving my set-up while TM worked on a solution. Not sure if they managed to come up with a solution given my moving the unit, but wonder if FS would have the similar issue.

                  Also. Get the metal stickers.

I'm connected to the iPad mini that originally came with the unit. The iPad does not have any other app except the basics installed and cellular and Bluetooth turned off. Shot not registering happened few times during the 100 shot session. When you intentionally try to do banana shots or hit super fat, it seems to have trouble reading. This happens with TrackMan all the time, so I'm not worried. Also, WiFi signal sometime blinked red too, but it wasn't really an issue.

My unit was facing drywall on top and cinder block on the bottom. Again, I just got it yesterday so I have to play around with it to optimize usage. My garage barely clears 20 ft, and the unit was about a foot from one wall, and the net was 2~3 ft from the other wall since it's a self standing one. Thinking of getting a cheap projector screen or a rollup curtain.

If I play on a mat, do I have to adjust tee to surface? It's a really thin mat, but I have a layer of cardboard box underneath.

According to support. The firmware that allows for 7 feet sensor to tee and 8 feet tee to screen is tested and ready. What they are working on and testing right now is the apps for ios and android that allows for setting this new short indoor range footprint on the sensor.

I have 20ft sensor to screen. I tried everything to get it to work. It would work for a few shots then it would stop working. Took it outside worked great. Put it down to 96 inches from sensor outside worked good. Brought it back inside no luck. Removed metallic sticker from balls an it's been working almost flawless for 3 days now (when it goes into sleep mode I can't wake it up, says it is but doesn't register until I reboot sensor) Anybody else experience this?

Short indoor range footprint is already supported in released firmwares

                            Xi 3.11
                            X2 9.16

IOS apps are ready to deploy, we might see VX2 app already in the next couple of days.
Android apps takes a bit longer to release because of more extensive testing in different platforms.

Also VX2 app is going to support Xi, Xi+ and Xi Tour in the future I have been told.

What do you mean, VX2 app support, Xi and Xi+ ???? Xi Tour is already compatible with VX2 app I believe ?
