New VX2 app comming

I bought the app and went to update the firmware and got a Flightscope Unknown message. Has anyone had that happen?

Which model do you have???? and I expect you use ipad. as the new app has not come yet for android. : Today when I started my Xi, the unknown fligtscope message was there, I updated the firmware, to 312, and then it was okay. Ps. I use android

I was able to synch mine without any problem. I've updated the firmware to 3.1.2 last week, so I didn't get any error message. I will try it later today and will report back.

Firmware update over wifi with app is Very unstable. If you get unknown sensor model after upgrade then its corrupted. You need to call support and they will upgrade over usb in a team view session

My first session with the new VX app went surprisingly well. Spin tracking has gotten much better even with the short 7.5~8 ft of distance to the net. I think the spin measurement is better than outdoor session of the previous firmware. I would say SW have a little difficulty tracking, but that is with TrackMan too. Number display is much quicker and stable. One thing that I felt s bit different is the spin axis. I'm gonna take it to the range tomorrow and see if the actual ball flight correlate with the spin axis number. Overall, excellent firmware update!

One thing I didn't like with the new VX app was that after every session, favorite parameters I put on right side of the screen gets reset so I have to put it back every single session. Compared to the 3 most used parameters on the old VX2 app, you can display up to 5 parameters, but they get reset after each session.

I just went through support and got the update. Does the Swing Training feature work with the Xi+ reading speed and AoA type stuff or is that locked out of all but X2 units? I'd find it useful in swing speed training because sometimes it's nice to swing at foam balls so you don't have to worry about contact. Hopefully my unit will now connect and I will test tonight.

Did you actually try out the new VX app? I've installed it on my iPad but have not tried it. Jwm seems like he us having authentication issue.

Yeah, for a little bit. I didn't have much time with VX2 previously since I only had the X2 for a few weeks.

I did the FW update via iPhone and the skills app (my iPad is pretty old and ios9 isn't the most reliable, didn't want the app to crash during update). The app FW update status message got to 100% and then didn't do anything. I thought it hung and I was going to be up a creek. I left it alone for a few minutes and then the FS LEDs changed over to standby. I woke it up and was able to connect. I wish she would have had some sort of confirmation on the app update screen!

I don't have the PC software at the moment, need to find time to call FS and get the contract setup and everything, otherwise would have done it through usb. I thought the PC software had a 10 day trial or something, but couldn't find a download on the FS site for the life of me. Does anyone have an installer or does it need to come from FS, I'd think that since they have it time bound and has to be activated that it would be available.

Regarding the app updates.
Which screen can you add more "bubbles"? I tried dragging the parameters out and I obviously wasn't using the right screen. I really wish they had a simple manual that showed what the capabilities are, or just did a 10 min video flying through the settings, options and use. I'm sure I'm missing stuff. The YouTube vids are a good start, just need more info.

You can double tap the parameters, up to 5. Not bubbles like it used to be, but the same square box. Once you end the session, it dissappear and have to put them out again after each session. Kinda annoying.

I finally was able to do split screen review of video and shot registered. Pretty cool feature, but wish I can run it like that than to review and compare.

I was able to get the unit firing again. I used the Xi+ app to force another firmware update with the help of support. I do like the utility of the VX app over the Xi+ app. I tried videoing two swings in a row but it only captured and synched the first. Definitely some bugs to work out. The swing training feature is a little light when you only have an Xi+, it was reading swing speed and AoA when I was hitting a foam ball. It should still provide use for swing speed training. I also moved my setup closer to the 16 feet from about 21 total and hit balls with no dots on them, I was still getting spin upwards of high 5k with a 6 iron with no metal dots. That is very promising for the accuracy of a proper setup.

Yes, definitely a huge improvement! If you can somehow be able to do the split screen continuously or be able to keep favorite parameters on the right side even after each session, please share with us.

Did you guys have adequate space for the regular indoor mode with the old firmware? I'm guessing you were somewhat less than their suggested amount and that is why you are now seeing better numbers?

I have about 11' from radar to ball and at least 15' to net. I guess I'm still better off keeping it at regular indoor? I'm only able to hit wedges though 8i inside due to ceiling height so I'm not going to have any crazy ball speed (75mph swing speed with an 8i) and I'm using metal stickers (do the make a difference in my situation?)
If you guys compared (and are more consistent than I am) and don't see a need for stickers on certain shots then I won't bother.

I didn't have much time w/ the VX2 app, but kinda remembered that FA was there...but wasn't sure, so didn't complain. I also don't remember if Face to Path was on the old app, that seemed new to me, but not sure. I know FTP is on the new app, so maybe the replaced FA w/ FTP?

It will either say FTT (Face To Target) or FTP (Face To Path), depending on the setting. It was on the old VX2 as well, but with the late software update. It was switchable in relative to target or path.

It's really annoying that I can't leave the favorites permanently on right side of the screen!!!

I ordered an X2. Has anyone tried the lesser LM to screen distance settings? How are they?
