Almost the same height. Both the hitting mat and the carpet are on the cement floor of my garage. The hitting mat is probably about 1.5 inches higher then the carpet but it really doesn't matter. The green carpet I have came from Home Depot and is probably the cheapest stuff they sell and they have some really cheap floor coverings.

Had a few buddies over last night to "test" it out. One of the guys is a single digit handicapper and pretty consistent. However, the readings he got many times was low and left.
I'm not sure if it had something to do with my mat moving or similar?
Anyways. Is there some recommended settings for the GC2?
Lighting?
Ball type?
It was a bit of a let down to see it reading some of their really good hits as off. EG a 4 iron for him should be 190-215. But on multiple occasisons it had him left by 11 and only 120 yds.

There's a lot of things that happen.
1. Some mats punish distance on a slightly fat shot
2. Some people swing slower in an indoor sim until they get used to being there
3. Some people with off center alignment struggle in a square sim
4. Some GC2's need tilt calibration run
5. Very rare, but some GC2's are brokenMy Courses:

Thanks mthunt.
After fixing my matt stabilization issue the distances are much more accurate.
I have a matzilla matt that I had originally bought for my optishot. I don't use that unit (it's never seen a half round after a few swings
I'm definately going to have to look at the slightly offcenter. I deliberately put my sim off to create more space in the room. It does have an affect with people trying to aim at the pin instead of hitting string and changing the aim in the sim.
I'm going to see if I can run the calibration software to see if that' helps out. Thanks!
