  • FR1 numbers are off compared to the GC2

    Got the GC2 yesterday and it works perfect...took it out to the range and the numbers are spot on. However, there seems to be an issue with the FR1 software reporting much shorter distances than what the GC2 gives out.

    For example here's a shot that I hit :

    Ball speed = 163.1 mph
    V. Angle = 10.3
    H. Angle = + 8.4
    Side spin = - 257
    Back Spin = 2536
    Carry = 246 yards
    Roll = 12 yards
    Distance = 271 yards
    Club Head Speed = 112.5 mph

    The GC2 reported a carry of 278 yards....that's a difference of over 30 yards with the FR1 software.

    The shot boost is set at 1.
    No Wind
    Lie is tee box 100%

    Anybody know what the issue is ?

    My plan is to use the FR1 software for range practice as it only came with one course and then purchase TGC for playing. However, it would be nice to have the range numbers accurate.

    Any advice is appreciated on how to fix this. Thanks,

    FR1 is indeed wrong . Flightscopes optimizer says that should be :
    - 274 yd carry
    - 301 roll

      Thanks for the quick response...I still have the GC2 on and it's actually showing 277 carry and not 278...so very close with the flightscope optimizer number. FR1 is definitely wrong. Now the question is how to fix it.

      I'm running the version 1.271.1020.090713 (what I see on the bottom right of the screen when I run the software)...this is what was already installed on the laptop that came with it. My understanding is that there is a 1.3 version out right now ? Thanks.

    Yes. It has been out for a long time. You are several updates behind.

      Thank you, any chance that you could help me upgrade to version 1.3 Ronsc? There is no way to update from the Foresight website I think. Since I have the security dongle...would that potential fix my issue if I just upgrade the software?

    Were you on the flat driving range or practicing on a course hole with elevation? That will account for carry differences. You mention tee box lies is why I ask since driving range has none to my knowledge.

      100% sure it was the flat driving range and not a hole on the course.

    Windows 10? You need the foresight components update for windows 10. Send me a pm with your email and I can send you the files you need.

      A big THANK YOU to Stingreye for helping me with this. The FR1 software is now displaying the same carry information as the GC2. I even took the GC2 and laptop with FR1 software to the course and can't believe how accurate everything is (short and long distances). As a new member, I want to say thank you to all of the community for your support. You guys are a huge help and my intention is to help out new members as well when I know more about golf simulation.
