I really dont want to buy the FSX software. However I still want to track stats/shot data etc. like FSX can do. I know TGC has a driving range but is it just for hitting balls?

there is no real true driving range on TGC you said that you have done a ton of research but you are asking questions that are out there already, in many forums and youtube. youtube is a great place for reference on all software and hardwareLast edited by aeroburner; 10-18-2017, 12:14 AM.

The best way to look at TGC is you pretty much get what you get in the real world. You get targets. You get golf balls. You hit shots. Good ranges have real life conditions such as fairways and greens. There's ranges with grids.
There's data tracking but not really in the game. It's seperate. You hav the ability to track all data on all shots and download it but it's not the features that FSX has ergo like hitting balls outside. My Courses:

There are plenty of ranges in TGC you can use to practice. Search for "range".
Plenty of stats available in the game.
All your shots are recorded, including your tour stats and handicap. Here is an example:
TGC Golf Simulator Tours, Tournaments and Challenges - Get the most out of your Golf Simulator. Join the excitement!
After every shot TGC will show you a nice shot analysis screen.
And when you're done practicing, join the tour!
