With you 100%. They are getting away with this shit because they can. It's like COMCAST. They can make a ton of money being the worst, because there is no competition. At least Foresight doesn't have exclusive rights to wire certain municipalities like COMCAST does. While the $$$$ barrier to entry is high, it IS doable.

This is very unfortunate for early adopters and just really A shame that they could not be more upfront with their business model regarding software at the time of purchase. People are spending a lot of money on these machines and likely would want to be supported for a good amount of time following their purchase especially with something so new.
What I don’t like about FS is that they seem to cut deals with recognized people to use their stuff and promote it, when it would just be nice to see them recognize it as the great product it is and treat all customers the same.Comment

So, the firmware has an update online and says it's for the putting analysis. I downloaded and installed and it said on the screen that you get a 30 day free trial of putting analysis. BUT, do oyu only get it on the unit and what can you really see on the unit? Anyone know this? I don't see any update for FSX or download for the putting software.
I am working on some putting and see that it now shows my ball and club speed NOT ROUNDED, which is great, but I'm hoping that I don't have to pay for that! I don't want to waste stickers on my putter to mess around with it. I only have one on it now.Comment

There is a new setting for club tracking to turn it on and it shows all the info on the GCQ screen. Does not seem to interact with FSX when in this mode, so only on the unit or the software that I don't have.Comment

It is available. I was accidentally cc'd on an email. They are providing the download link via email. Looks like there are new course versions as well.Comment

Now by putting the release year into the product name they’re likely setting it up for annual or biannual upgrades. Makes me want to get the dongle version if I upgrade so the product should continue working after it’s not supported, like FR1 still does.Comment

If you have a Quad and install the new firmware on the site v2.0.0.9 you get a 30 day trial of the putting. It seems you can only see the data on the unit screen though. The app doesn't seem to support it and I think you need FSX 2018 to see it in the software.Comment

Foresight does not care about old customers. In the last two years I bought a gc2/HMT then a quad/ FSX and a ton of courses and the iPad app. I helped them and their engineers all spring and summer getting the bugs out of both the quad and FSX 3.0.
As such, since hearing about this upgrade I’ve emailed all the folks I worked with including my lame sales guy that was happy to take my cash as well as the head of sales, engineering and even one of the founders that I had several conversations with over the summer. I was super polite and just thought they should do all of us “early adopters” a solid and upgrade us all at least with FSX 2018. Their response.....

I recently upgraded my firmware and got the 30 day free putting. It’s a joke. Not even as good as a $150 blast motion sensor IMO which gives you most of the data plus a tempo meter with I think is critical for good putting. I also use swing catalyst cameras which are 240fps at 1080p and they released a beta today that will integrate with the quad. I know bc I’m one of their beta testers. They we’re supposed to have this over the summer but Foresight wouldn’t sent them the developer tools until last week.
As for unsupported firmware or FSX software, if the go this route they’ll certainly have a class action on their hands I can guarantee.Comment

Anyway I got the putting and 2018 FSX as part of a preXmas deal on the Quad that was to include putting when released.
I have to say the putting is good. The data is almost as comprehensive as Quintic but much easier to collect. Just place the dots and away you go. Couldn't get it working on the iPad app. I'm still fiddling trying to get the club data appear on my sim screen after each stroke. I also have swing catalyst, but run it on a separate older computer. When the current beta version gets officially released, I may have to run it on the same newer computer I have running FSX, in which case I'll need to integrate GCQ and SC.Comment

Ipad app doesn't work with the new firmware. Bummer. FSX also not ideal as I couldn't get the club data to come up after each stroke without navigating with the mouse. Hopefully these glitches will be resolved soon.
Spoken with Foresight USA. New firmware not compatible with IPad, so if the iPad app is important to you, don't update the firmware!

Try and make sure ball is more in the center of the hitting area . I was having the same issue because I have a truestrike mat and was hitting my driver in 1 location and irons in another location which was more centered than the driver which was toward the top of the hitting area. Once I adjusted my quad the club data consistently showed up.

iPad app works with the Quad now and via Bluetooth. Putting is still missing from the iPad app though, with zero ETA on when it may be added.Comment
