  • GC2 & TGC 2019

There are so many GC2 users who play TGC, Some of whom appear to have been Alpha users of TGC2019, so I have to assume that TGC 2019 will actually work with GC2.

    However, on Protee web site it says;

    IMPORTANT:
1] This software is NOT compatible with Foresight GC2.
2] SkyTrak users need to order from SkyTrak directly.
3] R-Motion users need to buy the full version through the R-Motion app.

Are there any GC2 users who have TGC2019?

    If so,

    How do you buy it?

Does it work ok or any issues ( experiences thus far or known of ) ?

Also - anyone who had SkyTrak Licence and then changed it to GC2..... do you get upgrade through SkyTrak, and then transfer over???? ( hoping I don’t have to go back to using on my SkyTrak....)

    Thanks

OK Being a current a Skytrak user playing courses on TGC 2019 I am looking to upgrade to a GC2 or GCquad however I know very little about the ins and outs of the differences between the technology why the GC2 is able to connect to TGC 2019 and but the GCquad you can not ? Also how would that work exactly using the GSX software which I have no idea what that is ?

The GC2 connects using the following instructions. The Quad can connect as well using GSQX instead of GSX

I believe you will need to do a hardware platform transfer with Protee. That will give you access to the Protee Interface that will be needed. Additionally, this will only work with the lifetime license, no the annual through Skytrak.

So I use the same license Key that I have now for the TGC 2019 that I was using the for the SkyTrak but then I need to pay the Hardware upgrade charge to get another License Key for the Protee interface ? Is this how it works ?

cmibobby I’m not sure if it will be the same license key. I would just reach out to Protee support and they’ll tell you what you need to do.

Help on GSX stating Status Input : Disconnected. I have check all com ports, setting align per instructions, hit the slide back and forth and even re-booted. Any ideas why it won't connect? Status Output says connected.

Ignore - One must turn on the GC2 to play!

            Hi all,

Does the GC2 have to connect over bluetooth to the PC or can this be done using a USB cable if desired?

            Thanks,
            Gerry

I use USB cable for GC2 to TGC 2019 and bluetooth for FSX 2020.

Connection refused means that ProTee interface isn’t running or set up right. Post pics of the PT Interface set up

I have TGC and all of its components (GSX, etc) now for 12 days. I am using GC2 and had Bluetooth connection problems like many others. I finally had ProTee Support remote into my PC. The guy fixed it in 60 seconds. After checking my settings in the software and hardware (but not changing anything), I watched him disable McAfee Anti-virus. Then it magically started working.

I chatted with him for a couple of minutes and he said that McAfee will interfere with Bluetooth and their GSX software! That would have saved me about 10 days of frustration but at least it works most of the time.

So far, TGC will work for about 30 minutes and then quit receiving data from the GC2. I'm installing the ASUS BT400 later today. I hope that resolves the issue. I'm currently using the built-in Bluetooth.

ONE QUESTION: I saw one of the later posts in this chain say that he uses USB Cable between GC2 AND TGC, and uses Bluetooth between GC2 and FSX. I would have thought it would be the opposite? Everything that I have read so far says that TGC (GSX) can only work with GC2 via Bluetooth? Has anyone really got TGC - GC2 combination to work with USB instead of Bluetooth?

FYI: I have used FSX - GC2 with no connection problems for about 7 years. For the first several years, I used the USB cable option. Then I switched to Bluetooth because I had a friend who is left-handed and being "wireless" was so much better. I never experienced one problem with FSX and Bluetooth in the 5+ years of doing that, but it is an older laptop circa 2013 using an external Bluetooth adapter. I'm hoping the ASUS BT-400 Bluetooth adapter solves my connection issues because I love the TGC software so far and can't wait to start using it regularly!

Thanks for the help. My ASUS BT-400 arrived today and it appears to have fixed my GSX-to-GC2 connection issues (so far)! I appreciate the advice (Wizard and mthunt). I also downloaded the USB zip file and may try using it if the Bluetooth becomes unstable again.

Here's the interface that allows USB. Plug in the GC2 and use this instead of GSX. Just make sure you run the MSI file first. It's a shield for FSX. This will also run the GC2 in Bluetooth or even two GC2's.

mthunt I just stumbled on your reply here. No idea how long this has been around, but that is awesome! My bluetooth actually works fine, but it does miss the occasional shot. I'm thinking the wired USB connection should be more reliable.
