  • Foresight Sports Performance Fitting App

Do any Fitters or Coaches use this app with clients and use the Exporting function. ?

I am asking because I have become frustrated with the very limited nature of the Export Function in FSX 2018 in that apart from the data generated by the GC2/HMT , you cannot include detailed club info for fitting purposes and export it , the only club detail that you can include is the club named in the Foresight Range whose dialogue box has a very limited number of characters , not enough to even name a driver with a longish name.

I started to use the Mobile Performance Fitting app and found that it did have dialogue boxes to enter club and session details so was heartened by that discovery but on exporting the report none of that information is included in the exported report, which renders it useless as a fitting tool.

I am asking in case I have missed something or am doing something wrong.

    Foresights EU webpage states .....

"Our Performance Fitting app instantly delivers the unmatched accuracy of the GCQuad and GC2 launch monitors to your Apple iPad™ or Android device in stunning clarity. Custom tailor every player, club, and ball type for each fitting session, review comprehensive ball and club data (per shot or across a customisable range), and when the session is done, you can email or upload all data to FSX 2018."

From that statement I would expect to be able to export fitting notes or ball testing notes , but it is not even possible to name the ball, the only choice is Range ball either yes or no.

    What am I missing????

Not a fitter or coach, and as far as I know you cannot include detailed club info, but changing the ball can be done by going to center of screen selecting drop down arrow, and the select ball.

Thanks, I did not know that you could do that in FSX 2018 , I will look further in the Mobile Performance Fitting App but think the choice is Range Ball yes or No in the ball drop down in the IPAD app.

iPad app is really limited for fitting although it can still work in outdoor environment for a quick check-up. For outdoor though I would recommend using a radar system (Trackman or Flightscope).

FSX Mobile app is supposed to be an upgrade and it does save your record in the cloud if you have a cellular network to login to Foresight. However it still doesn't save any data locally and browsing shots info on Foresight cloud is not really intuitive either. With Foresight programs at this moment, I would probably just use PC FSX program for fitting.

Thanks for the replies I agree that the Mobile Performance Fitting App is very weak and does not really deserve to be called that.

I am going to raise a query with Foresight and will post if I get a response.

Good luck with that. Please keep us posted. There mobile apps are a joke and they seem content with not enhanced them. It’s so frustrating trying to use them coming from Flightscope and Skytrak. They feel like a 10y old bit of software.

I've asked a number of questions of the Foresight EU support , they have said that they had a call booked in with the US operation and they would raise the questions I have asked with the manufacturer.

To be honest I am staggered that they cannot answer simple questions about the functionality of their own software without having to resort to calling the US operation.

The queries I have are not difficult technical questions and it is disappointing that they do not know the answers and are unaware of aspects of the software architecture that simply doesn't work.

This software costs £3000.00 in the UK and for that figure I expect everything to work and if it doesn't then quick fixes need to be applied to rectify the problem.

I will post up when/if I get a reply, I plan on calling them personally if no response by the end of the week.

I didn't get a response as promised by Foresight Support here in the UK so I called them today and asked for an update. I spoke to the Support person and they told me that the issue had been reported to Foresight USA who were going to look at the issues with the software that I had raised.

I was again surprised by the lack of knowledge of the support people regarding the functionality of the various programs that are available if you buy FSX 2018 at £3,000.00 in the UK . They did not know that the dialogue boxes in Performance Fitting App for example , do not transfer the user inputted descriptive data to exported reports which is a serious defect and contrary to their statements on their own website regarding the performance of the software .

In all honesty , the FSX 2018 software suite has a large number of issues, the problems get reported but they don't seem to be in a hurry to fix them , I don't like high pricing and then poor product control / testing on release , and like even less the corporate lethargy when paying customers highlight issues and then the response is that they will look at it and the problems don't get fixed until the next half baked new product is released at massive upgrade fees.

Foresight are not getting another cent from me until they have an organisational epiphany moment but I'm not holding my breath.

It looks like other motivated companies are becoming active in the marketplace currently challenging Foresight Sports and others manufacturers niche , that is good for everyone.

Two months on from this post . I get an email from UK Foresight support advising me that my support contract is about to expire and to contact them for renewal options.

I responded by asking about progress on the issues that I raised with them that have still not been answered or resolved and unsurprisingly have received no reply from them.

I really don't like this company's operational practice , they simply stop answering when they don't like or can't answer a relevant product question , but are fast when it comes to trying to lever more money from customers who have already spent large figures with them.

I can honestly say that when I had Skytrak before investing in Foresight products , I enjoyed the engagement from Skytrak people here on this forum and other manufacturers of products in the market place and had a feel good factor when I used their equipment because of a perceived relationship and a sense that the people in those organisations care .

I don't get that with Foresight, although a much more expensive product, I don't get the feel good factor from owning their equipment and software .....

Hi, I just started using the performance app, I was wondering is there a way to get overall distance not just carry distance? I know the computer software has both carry and overall distance, why Can’t I find it....

Total distance is not available in the performance app, just carry. You'll need simulation software that takes into account surface type among other variables to calculate roll. You can just use the decent angle to tell which shot will result in the most roll out.
