  • New GCQuad - Yardage is short

I just got a GCQuad sim-in-a- box. It was easy to setup and they really do put everything you need in the box. But I am having trouble with my carry numbers. They are 20 to 30 yards or more short of what I hit on the course. At first I thought, wow, I need to practice, but some friends came over and their shots would doing the same. I am new the sim world and this might something very basic so any thoughts appreciated.

I find that on my Quad and TM4 that the numbers are either on or slightly higher.

Altitude on where you live and carry/total mixup can cause the issue.

Are you playing courses or the range? Set FSX to GCQ Barameter in FSX to match your location. The Quad display should show you your carry number. Carry and Total are different.

Do you find that the club speed display on GC4 is higher than on TM?

Could be altitude, indoor swing, or your mat. This topic gets added a lot by people having their sim for first time, but most of the time it is not a broken sim.

              Congrats on on your Purchase!

ps, forgot to add one that has also occurred and while likely not the case here has been a culprit. This one is that sometimes people don’t know their distances or think they carry the ball a lot farther than they actually do.

the quad is portable so I would take it outdoors to the range just for peace of mind. Indoor swing is real, should wear off over time. You can’t “feel” indoor swing, you just swing slower until you get comfortable inside.

                  Yeah, ditto the other comments..

I door swing syndrome is a real thing and it took a long time for me to swing the same inside as out
The ball you use makes a difference
Make sure the environmental setting match where you play as well.
I highly doubt your quad is wrong.
And yes take it out to the range with you and see.

Mine was the opposite. I hadn't been on Trackman for a long time and I had a chance to try. The numbers were a lot better than I thought. My ball speed was 10 mph more than I had thought.

No they are within about 1-3mph

Hi Tim, can you advise as to your thoughts on the projector they include with Sim in the Box? I believe it is an EIKI EK308U (6,000 lumens). I have asked the MFG. about input latency for gaming, and they have not been able to reply back yet. I saw the projector in use at the PGA Show and did not see any lag but I did not watch for very long. I understand it is a fantastic projector - was just hoping for your feedback so far. Thank you! Carl
