  • Fsx on the iPad. How is it?

How’s the fsx app on the iPad for just using the driving range? Is it about the same as fr1 driving range? That would be fine with me until getting a desktop or laptop hooked up for fsx..

FSX mobile is really bad. BT connection drops out frequently, freezes at times and when it does work ok there are bugs like absurd roll out when you miss the green (like an extra 40-50 yards with a 7i).

Just not good, I prefer the fitting app.

That is much different than my experience. I have used it a handful of times and always thought it was smooth and did a good job in a pinch. Maybe I just got lucky....

It's pretty nice for mobile. The graphics are actually better than E6 iOS. I have been testing on my iPad air which has a little frame loss I think due to Bluetooth possibly. I am working with support on it. I use my iPhone 11 Pro though and it works flawlessly with Wifi as I have cellular on it for internet. I will have a video coming soon covering it in detail.

I'd be very interested in seeing this video! I haven't used it yet, seems limited compared to Skytrak apps and other sim apps for simulators but hoping it is better than the perception on the forum!

Maybe they’ve updated it? I wouldn’t have used it this year, maybe even 12 months.

Seemed like it was universally mocked on here when I first bought FSX, I hoped it wasn’t “that bad” but found it to be really poor.

Same experience here. Bluetooth drops after like 10 shots and takes forever to re-connect only to keep dropping on a new iPad Pro. The distance in the app is also different from on the actual GC Quad despite all of the settings being equal. I have contacted foresight support multiple times on this and they literally play dumb like "we have not heard this complaint and do not see the issue" and the app hasn't been updated in a year. The app has a ton of potential especially on the go but the FSPerformance app is the only viable option IMO if you need the use/save/fit via iPad.
