Sim in a box projector cart question

How far away and off to the right is the cart from the screen? What kind of projector is it? Short throw etc..

the projector is an Eiki 308u. Right now I have it just to the right of the back of the mat. so around 15-16 feet from screen. It is not short throw and this is what projector central states "place the projector lens between 14'-3" and 23'-4" from the screen." It has a very large lens shift and zoom which allows a broad range of settings. I plan to ceiling mount it this weekend


It is very bright and the picture is very clear. I have no issues with the projector although I have no idea who eiki is

Ok thanks for the info. I was curious how the picture would be just on a cart to the right. I might even try this method when I setup a screen instead of mounting off a 12ft ceiling..

you have to use the keystone function which is never a good idea as it degrades the picture
Plus if you ever have lefties over you would have to move it which defeats the purpose

This is why I will be ceiling mounting mine

I have the same setup (bought the sim in a box) and the projector works well. I have mine about 12-13 feet, back right position from the mat. The only thing I hate is having to go through the keystone adjustment every time, that’s a real pain in the butt. I haven’t figured out a way to set that as a selectable preset.

Soupy, would like to hear how the ceiling mount works out for you if you have a moment. If the picture is better I’ll most likely do the same.

I am going to do it just for the reason you mention. No keystone adjustment. Just tilt and lens shift down
