  • E6 integration Aug 17

    Got this from Foresight today:

We are excited to be releasing our E6 software integration on Monday, August 17th. This is effective for all FSX 2020 license holders. If you are still considering purchasing our technology, this is an exciting addition to our offerings.

Got excited when I read the email subject for this, then completely dejected when I saw the price. Are you kidding me? $2500 so I can buy software from a third-party because they refuse to invest in the graphics and UI for the $2500 software that I already have? I love my GC2, but I'm looking forward to the day that someone provides an equivalent product at a marginally better price point. It's like this company is just looking for every angle to gouge their customers.

my rep said they may have a reduced course package like uneekor but he also stated it would be awhile before it was offered

This could be seen as an indication that Foresight is contemplating a retreat from the software side of things, or admitting defeat. But that is a bit hard to believe given how much money they get from the software.

I can't see myself ponying up $2500+ for E6, at least not until I see a side-by-side review of all the features and graphics against FSX courses and E6 comes out way ahead. Particularly given the indication above that Foresight is working hard on improving their graphics. I think current FSX2020 courses, with Reshade, are already very good -- approaching the limit of what my projection setup is able to take advantage of.

They are not getting out of software. I am just going to wait it out and be happy playing fsx for now. I mostly use the driving range anyway

This is frustrating indeed. I thought the whole point of E6 Connect was to offer a subscription service. This will only appeal to commercial operations at these prices on top of FSX.

I am not sure why everyone is surprised by this. If you look at the E6 site you will see this is the standard price they charge.

Just to be clear, if you buy software from E6 for a different launch monitor you have to buy the $2,500 software before you can sign up for the subscription service? I guess I always thought it was one or the other. $600 a year is super steep if you already dropped $2,500 for the software.

I believe it's a $2500 purchase for the software, which gets you the courses that you can play as casual rounds. If you want to participate in online play or peer-to-peer play, you have to pony up an additional $300 a year (or $600 a year or whatever it is). So basically the annual subscription is an additional cost if you want to play online tournaments or against other people. But it's not mandatory.

                  From what I’ve read online, users aren’t paying $2500, they’re paying $300 or $600 for e6 connect.

Seriously, you all need some perspective. First of all Foresight is offering you what YOU'VE all been asking for! Third party integration. Now when you get it you complain what the third party charges for their software? These aren't Foresights prices, they are E6's. It would be nice if you could choose E6 and not have to pay for FSX but I get it.

I think the complaint is with TruGolf / e6. SkyTrak and Mevo+ users aren’t paying $2500, they’re paying $300 or $600 p.a. only for the e6 connect subscription services.

So you if it's true what guys are saying, since I already own E6 I should get a break? Nope, E6 says you need to talk to Foresight. I am not paying for the same thing twice. The fact they said that though, says to me it is not on E6. BTW, I also own fsx 2020.

I've heard it's $500 to move platforms with E6. So, no you don't have to purchase E6 again. You need to purchase through Foresight but it goes to E6. Foresight has control over the integration access which is why you need to go through them.

Thanks mmlincon, I emailed therm and they did say it would be 500 for me but I am confused a bit. I told him I have E6 but not E6 connect. I am assuming I still need to buy the E6 connect upgrade? I thought I made it clear in my email to him but maybe not. Basically 500 to make E6 - GC2 more seamless instead of gsx. Hopefully it has foresights ball flight algorithm.
