    GCQ disconnecting from PC

This issue has been mentioned in a couple of other threads but not fully discussed.

Lately I am seeing the GCQ disconnect very often from the PC. Usually it reconnects itself after a few seconds. The issue is sporadic -- some sessions there are no problems at all, while other times it disconnects every minute or so.

The issue happens more often when I am in practice mode than while playing a round. I use the USB connection, not wifi. I am on the latest versions of FSX 2020 and GCQ firmware.

Are others encountering this too, or have I got a problem with my own system? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I was a former quad and hawk owner .... this was very common especially with the hawk I found using a Ethernet cable was the best solution the USB seems to disconnect a lot ... good luck

I have been using Quad for about a month now and not 1 disconnect. I generally use WiFi and my PC has an Ethernet connection. What connection method are you using? Are you sure it is not the WiFi adapter having issues? Maybe try a latest gen USB wifi adapter to be sure? Also make sure your drivers for your WiFi adapter are up to date?

I got disconnects here and there when using wifi but don't get them ever using either Ethernet nor using USB.

          Must be your computer.

I had heard that static electricity could cause disconnects. I have since put a static free packaging wrapper under the unit and it seems to help.
