  • Anyone like using a touchscreen with FSX 2020.

I purchased a touchscreen thinking it would be nice to have but find I don't use it at all. Starting a new game and setting up play is all done on the projector screen so you have to use a mouse and not the touch screen. Also aiming on the touchscreen is so much easier with a mouse on the minimap and just clicking where to aim. Maybe its just me and I don't care much for it just wondered what everyone else thought.

I don’t have an impact screen yet so I do use the touch screen monitor along with an air type mouse as well at times.

I use a touchscreen almost exclusively. You should only have the course displayed on the projected image and all the controls and data points on the touchscreen. Now dropping balls for practice or fine tune aiming is better done with a mouse. I can 99% of everything via the touchscreen and it works great. Even changing direction aim is just a matter of touch and slide.

Haha I just figured it out tonight and saw your post. Yes I now have my touchscreen set to the main screen and the projected screen as the secondary. So much better. Now I love the touchscreen and doing everything from it. Is there a way to show a mini display of distance and wind on the secondary screen Im not seeing? Or do you always look at the main display for that info. Thanks

Wondering if someone can help me out since Foresight CS was clueless. Recently started a SIM build in my basement (GC QUAD)- still waiting on carpet install among a few other things but I have everything working - CPU, projector, touch screen...err, this is where I need help. I installed a touch screen and am using it in dual monitor mode within FSX2020 but for some reason, my projected image now will not fill my screen - but the touch screen monitor is perfect. Prior to hooking up the touch screen, the projected image filled the hitting screen edge to edge but after the touch screen, there are now black bars at the top and bottom of the projected image but only when using FSX. When my desktop is viewed, the projected image is edge to edge. Another funny thing is, the Foresight logo is in the space of the black bar at the bottom so it's still projecting the same size image however the range is condensed for some reason. Hard to explain but see the pictures and let me know if anyone has a fix. I spent 45 minutes on the phone and remote access with Foresight but he could not figure it out at all and basically told me I'm SOL. I'm not buying that and feel like there is a setting or something that can be tweaked so things go back to "normal" on my projected image.

Mine actually does the same thing. So I have zoomed in my projector a little bit so it bleeds over into the black on the sides since there is no information on the projected screen. it isn't noticeable. Looks like you did the sim in a box also. So we probably have the same setup.

The other thing that drives me crazy is why cant you have the box that displays who is up next popup on the projected screen, at least I havnt found an option. Or I wish there was in option to display a little info on the projected screen like player, yardage, slope wind. ect... just the needed info to hit so you didn't have to look at the touchscreen monitor when your up.

        I have 3 monitors 1920x1200 and projector 1920x1080
You need to be able to mix resolutions across your virtual desktop.
I use a windows app called monitor profile switcher (Martin Kramer).
I have main display on projector 1920x1080
monitor1 with extra fsx info 1920x1080, then mon2,mon3 run at 1920x1200 all across same desktop

for fsx2020 control I use an iPad mini on a tripod stand sitting in the hitting area, running air keyboard with the fsx layout.
you can also setup a microphone and go voice commands to control fsx2020
        Good luck

That's great that there is a solution but is there any chance you can post the steps I need to take in order to rectify those black bars on the projector image? Happy to download the program but then what?
