  • Can I move entire foresight sports folders and programs to another hard drive?

Well my 256gb ssd is getting full from other stuff and didn't realize it. I have a D drive 1gb hard drive with lots of room. Can you just move or transfer everything over without any issues running the programs from the icons and no license issues with fsx?

I think people have had issues, you would have to try and reinstall it onto D drive.
1tb drive SSD are so cheap and imaging/cloning the 256gb is really easy

FortySix - I just went thru this this week. The laptop I have had a128 M.2 ssd and a 1TB Sata drive. The 128 looked like a stick of memory vs. the 2.5 drive. Newer computers I believe will have the M.2 style and the extra drive would be the 2.5. A friend who is a technician highly advised me to switch to a Samsung V-NAND SSD 256 M.2 due to the cloning download which is free. These things fly compared to the 2.5. It is rather easy using the Samsung cloning software. I am not a computer person but it was very simple. You just need the cable and the drive. Cloning the drive will take 60-120 mins. Once cloned, remove the 256 and add your 512 or TB. I was a little nervous doing this myself but it was rather easy. just need the correct computer tools to take it apart.

I was advised not to use the 1TB back drive as my primary due to performance. Great for storing and backup but not primary. Good luck

I just received my new gaming rig this week. The OS drive (C:\) is a 250GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus PCIe NVMe M.2. If I keep installing things on this drive, it will fill up quickly. For now, FSX is installed on this drive.

My "data" drive (D:\) is another SSD: 2TB Samsung 860 PRO Series. I just purchased E6 this week and installed all the files on that drive as a test. I'm still waiting for the activation code, which I should get today. I'm hoping it works and doesn't need to be installed on the C:\.

If E6 works properly, then I might reinstall FSX on the D:\ and give it a shot.

My old Dell G7 gaming laptop only had a 256GB drive and I kept having space issues. Once the drive filled up, I would get no-reads and disconnects from my GCQuad, so I'm hoping to avoid that situation with the D:\.

I did this using a link shell extension. Works fabulously. I just have my courses on another drive.

The command prompt version kept giving me errors, but the Link Shell process worked with the Junction process. I moved all the files and kept trying. FSX would not open until I got it to work.

At an average of 450Mb/course I'm in the same boat. Never even heard of link shell extension - I'm going to give that a whirl. Thanks!

I need to do this as I have the same issue. Am I able to clone my 256 to a larger SSD and not change my machine ID or mess up my TGC license? What is the process for doing this and what is required to do it?

My experiment with E6 Connect worked great. E6 is installed on the D:\ in a new folder I created. FSX is installed on the C:\.

When I first launched E6, there was an error saying it couldn't find it, but then allowed me to navigate to the D:\ folder and select the executable. It worked perfectly after that.
