Sim in Box 16x10 Projector Black bars with 1920x1200 Resolution??

Anyone else get this with a dual screen setup and a 16x10 projector. Notice how my desktop fits perfect, and my fairgrounds also fits perfect. Why is there black bars on my screen when playing on FSX 2020. To get rid of them I always just zoom it in so it bleeds into the black on the sides but there must be an actual fix or reason why I have this. Attached are pictures explaining. Also notice how the foresight logo is in the black bars in the lower right.

Now why would there be black bars here and notice the foresight logo is in the black bar at the bottom of the screen?

Can you change FSX to 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080?

Notice my fsx settings screenshot. I have the projector as 1920x1200. The 1080 is the touchscreen controls screen. I know its reading the 1920x1200 because the foresight logo in the right hand corner is in the black.

Try reversing them - i.e. set 1920 x 1200 in screen 1 and 1920 x 1080 in screen 2. Seems to me somehow they became reversed on me at one point and the resolutions were off. Bottom line - the screen labelling is not obvious in FSX2020 I find (or it could just be me). Worth a shot.

Now notice if I set my projector to 1080 instead of 1200 it shows the foresight logo in the course and not the black so that tells me fsx is reading it as 1200 just isn't showing the course full screen for some weird reason.

Now if I set the controls and everything on the projector, then it shows the fullscreen. But I dont want the controls on that screen. Very strange. So what I have to do to get by for now is zoom the projector in so the sides bleed into the black and then it fills the screen. But its a pain when we play fairgrounds with the kids because then I have to zoom it back out.

What if you force your monitor to 1920x1200 or just set it in fsx if it allows? Monitor image will be distorted but it might work.

Doesn't do any good because it is showing at 1920x1200 its just fsx is messed up in its programming I guess. I decided I would just settle for making the projection screen my main screen. Even though I lose the controls on my touch screen I can still use touchscreen for aiming. Then it fills the screen as you can see in this picture.

On a positive note its nice having the banner on the big screen so people can see who is up next and there distance easily without looking at touchscreen. Just not as convenient not having all my controls on the touchscreen. Have to use a mouse than to control everything.

I have called Foresight about this EXACT issue and they told me that it's because my monitor is not 1920x1200. They even remoted in to try and fix it but after an hour, they gave up. Frustrates me that their software is so poorly designed. If anyone has a fix, I'm l'll ears. I don't want to swap screens like the OP did because I like using my touchscreen as a touchscreen.

Did you try the suggestion in post 2.2? I ask again as I see your windows seems to indicate Screen 1 is your projector whereas your FSX window has then reversed. Worth a quick shot maybe?

Yep I have tried everything. According to support sounds like their software issue with multi monitors and different resolutions. So not something on my end.

I actually have the same resolutions as you do - 1920 x 1080 on my touch screen monitor and 1920 x 1200 on my projector and I do not have the same issue. So, not sure what the setting is, but something is not set up correctly.

If you notice in the picture, the foresight symbol (bottom right corner but in the displayed area) is on my other display (touchscreen) and not the Projected display. Again, this is why I think that perhaps what you (and possibly windows) think Screen 1 is and what Foresight thinks screen 1 is may not be the same thing .......

Notice you dont have your touchscreen controls on that picture you are showing. It only happens when you have all the controls on the touchscreen. I have it setup the way you do now and its fine on the projector but I wanted all the controls to be on the screen your showing. That seems to be the problem. See if you can have the player banner ribbon on the top of the screen with all the controls on your touchscreen and then see if you get a fullscreen on your projector.

If I have my controls on the projector then it works fine. I would just prefer to run everything on the touchscreen and just show the course on the projector if I wanted.Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_5579.JPG Views:	0 Size:	118.2 KB ID:	305626

Have you tried messing around with the things that suggest here: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...tor-resolution

I know it's not the exact same situation, but if you told your system that the resolutions were the same, the prob would likely go away.

Thanks, I have tried so much and as an IT person. I have pretty much given up to get it the way I wanted. I think it's a FSX software issue and the way I have it now I can live with and will see what future updates bring. Hopefully more control to move stuff around in dual screen setups.

Well, if you get bored, I recommend trying my solution. It will trick your system into thinking the resolutions are the same and therefore take care of your issue. I have my share of IT experience and most people don't know you can do this, which is why I posted and make it sticky.

Thanks I will play around. Now I kind of like having the banner across the top vs on the touchscreen. Even though it sucks not having the controls there anymore I like the information along the top since we play a local league match every week and people like seeing it up there better.
