  • GCQ TGC2019 New Interface GCQX2

Hey guys, I have a new interface for you that fixes the need to run FSX and also gives you the ability to connect Via USB. That's right, it's called GCQX2.

The GCQ Connect light does not come on in USB. It’s on purpose.

This has worked out fantastically for me and I really appreciate whoever put the time into coding this program. I use it via USB connection, not a second wi-fi.
But the engineer in me has questions, maybe borne from now being a new user of TGC2019. Once link between GC Quad and TGC2019 is established:

      a. does TGC2019 care about club selection (Z , X keys)? If so, why, if loft/speed/spin etc. are communicated; FSX2020 does not care to my knowledge.

      b. what other settings in TGC2019 are relevant? I don't want to waste my time customizing things which are subsequently ignored anyway. I do understand that ProTee interface settings are N/A.

      c. after data is passed from Quad to TGC2019, which club/ball data is used directly by TGC2019, and which of necessity post-processed by TGC2019 (roll after carry for example)? I can make some guesses based on data I see on-screen from TGC2019 but then I am puzzled by simple difference I might see in putting, for example.

      Thanks in advance for everything.

        A. Doesn’t matter unless putter is selected. Putter removes spin.
        B. Straight putt and green speed set in the settings file at startup
        C. Carry is not passed. Speed, spin and direction are passed and TGC makes it’s own ball flight calculations.

Question on this. I have noticed on many occasions that the ball speed, spin, and lesser so, direction are not consistent between what my GCQuad is reporting versus what is shown in TGC2019. I will of course, document this, so I'm not just spouting off, but wondered if anyone else has reported this previously

If you hit I after the shot the post shot screen should read the same as the Quad except carry.

I'll record some shots and post back. I am painfully aware, lol, of the difference in carry, even comparing to real life or TM numbers from fittings. That's just something I'll have to manage by choosing a different set of tees. I won't bother with the ridiculously low spin numbers either as that's irrelevant to my concern when the ball is hit properly.

The GCQuad is set for sea level and I'm using new Srixon ZStar golf balls

Has anyone had a few missed shots that record on the quad but not in tgc?

So can't comment on a quad but since moving to USB connection for GC2 I have at least 3 or 4 per round that read on the GC2 but not in TGC.

I am upgrading from Skytrak to GCQuad. I would like to connect the GCQuad wirelessly. My laptop connects directly via Ethernet to internet. I was told the GCQuad puts off its own WIFI signal for the laptop to connect to.
Therefore I won’t need any cables for the GCQuad making it easier when I need to move the GCQuad for righty lefty play when certain friends are over.
I plan to use the new GCQX2 interface.
                    Does this make sense?

I went from Skytrak to Quad late last year. You are going to love the GCQ!

Your plan makes sense. It should work well. I think there is a setting in Windows where it shuts off wifi if you are connected via Ethernet. Just make sure that setting is turned off.

My laptop will be connected to internet (TGC2019) by Ethernet

Why would I need to turn off WIFI?

I am going to connect to the GCQuad wireless

                        Thanks

Wifi is wireless. You can connect you quad to the laptop via the laptops wifi and connecting the the quads wifi network. If you laptop where to use wifi connected to another wifi you’ll need another wifi card.

                        Just to verify
I connect my laptop via Ethernet
I connect my laptop to GCQuad using the GCQUAD’s wireless signal
I can then use ProTee interface and GCQX2 to run TGC2019

My comment was that windows has a setting where if you plug in an ethernet cable, it will turn off your wifi. You do not want that to happen, so make sure that setting is turned off.
