  • Foresight Sales Experience

I recently enquired with Foresight about upgrading (maybe not an upgrade) from my Quad to the Hawk. The rep for my area got in contact with me and eventually set up an instal. I was assured my Hawk would be activated with club data, which I also had on my Quad. After several hours of the installer not being able to get the club data working it was decided to try and get it working later remotely. No problem. I recently received a message letting me know that, apparently unbeknownst to Foresight previously, that they cannot transfer club data licenses and now I’m looking at having to pay another $5400 (about 25% of the amount I’ve already paid) to get club data. Has anyone else had an experience like this? Seems insane to me that they a) don’t know how their own licensing works, and b) sold me a product with certain specifications and now decide the best course of action is to shrug and tell me I need to shell out another $5k+.

Well if they assured you that your club head data from your quad would transfer over to your hawk, WITH no fee, then yeah that’s on them and they should honor it. If no assurances were made about a free transfer, and all they said was that your hawk would have club head data on it, well then that’s on you to confirm any additional costs. I assume there was an invoice with pricing details on exactly what you were getting and how much it was gonna cost you

Yeah, they get tricky. In their eyes, it's linked to the device and not the purchaser. Did they take your Quad on trade-in? After reading this site and putting in offers on Quads (sorry to those I left on read) I stayed away from Foresight. Come join us at team Uneekor.com

There was no talk of any transfer fee. I said I want you to supply and install a GCHawk with club data like the GCQuad I currently have. They said ok, pay us X. I pay X. Invoice says I get what I ask and pay for, but turns out I don’t.

If they say my Hawk has club data, but then doesn’t... that’s on me? I would like to think that’s not how they run their business.

It’s unfortunate that they apparently didn’t know about their own policy beforehand. They didn’t take my Quad on trade. To soften the blow they told me to just add the cost to my Quad when I sell it privately.

Mhmm they don't want anyone to get it for free. I agree with you though. You are a repeat customer buying a more expensive product. In my line business, we reward large purchases from repeat customers. The problem is they are selling sims like hotcakes and there is no reason to change their business practices. They have a great product (software aside) and they know it.

No that’s not what I said. I said it’s on you to confirm what you’re getting and what you’re paying. If the invoice says you’re getting hawk with club data for X amount, then foresight should honor it. Trust me man, I’m in agreement with you about companies and dealers honoring contracts and commitments

That’s pretty shocking... I’d seriously consider returning it for a refund as it was incorrectly sold, and get a uneekor eyeXO... ceiling mounted and not locked into FSX.. can play e6 and other sim software

My experience with them buying/repairing my GC2 and then reading this kinda of stuff will definitely stop me from going to a hawk or quad.

Yeah, if it all happened exactly how you say, you need to tell them to either come get the Hawk and give you a full refund, or add club data to the Hawk and remove it from the Quad like they said they would. Club data is always linked to device though. Curious what it says on your sales slip. If it doesn't say that, then, I dunno. Do you have something in writing somewhere? Even email...if you do, then yes, if you don't then, maybe you misunderstood.

The invoice says to “transfer license and all courses and software from Quad to Hawk” I made it abundantly clear that I wanted the club head data. The rep who sold and installed it spent 2 hours using the wand it comes with to try and get the club head data working the day he installed it. He couldn’t and said he would try and get it working remotely after sending me a USB to help him do so. There’s just no question that they knew. Unfortunately I’m thinking that telling them to take it back and give me a full refund might be my best course of action.

As far as asking for a refund...Good luck with that. My own personal experience was when I asked for refund on my GChawk they stopped answering my emails. Ended up selling it outright for a loss & bought a Uneekor QED. Believe me when I say my Uneekor customer service "after" the sale is as good as before the sale! Have had my QED over a year & really happy with it.

Heck they even came out with an free update a few months ago that will now give you measured club head data instead of calculated. They could have charged for an upgrade but they didn't - totally free.

Context matters: what was the reason you were asking for a refund? Was there something wrong with it? You just changed your mind? Did they sell you something that wasn’t what the invoice stated?

I’m not defending foresight in any way, but your story is one sided without providing additional context.

Without getting into detail I'm merely stating he's not the only one who has had issues with Foresight & I sympathize. I'm over whatever issues I had with Foresight & have moved on.

Probably can just dispute it with your credit card company if foresight is not willing to honor the invoice. I know it’s probably gonna be a pain, but you’re talking about $20k piece of equipment. So did you have to buy another fsx license too, or did that transfer ok? Not really sure if that’s tied to the hardware or the person

Yeah not sure how the refund process would go
