I'm curious how course purchases may or may not transfer to FSX Play.
They would get a lot more sales if they disclosed that. No way am I purchasing a bunch of inferior courses vs the competition but if I knew they would transfer over to FSX play for no additional cost then I would strongly consider buying some.
So like $7750 for roughly 100ish courses. I have TGC2019 but frankly haven't used it in over a year. The realism just isn't there. Feels too much like a video game. At least with the fsx courses, the ball behaves the way it should. I'm tempted to just sell my TGC2019 license.
Jwheels9876 - you could have your own course designed/built in the back 40 acres of your property for that, LMAO! I don't mean to be disrespectful, but really, who does their pricing and how many courses are they really selling at those prices? I could see wanting to have Pebble, Spyglass etc, but all those are in TGC2019 for free along with another 100,000+ to choose from!
Proper software vendors are required to license the course designs and pay royalties to the party as the layout of the course is considered 'IP'. It's the reason you can't find The Masters within TGC2019 under it's proper title of Augusta National. This is why Foresights can't just charge the same for their premium courses as the standard courses. The royalty fees are getting them.
TGC2019 may have 100,000+ courses but what you're not told is how many are junk/duplicates or half completed. So many incomplete looking courses exist and unfortunately, the course designers can't recall a course once published with a newer version. It would need to be re-published as a new course. I tried looking for real courses I know exist and can't find the right ones.
jmeshowsay - just wondering - will the transfers be the highest quality graphics that a FSX Play designed course is, or are they converted over and lose detail when they come that way? I like everything I see with FSX Play.
Anyone considering this needs to be aware of a key piece of info. FSX Play will be an upgrade cost to FSX2020. Courses purchased in FSX2020 will be available within FSX Play but not immediately. Essentially, you will not need to re-buy the courses.
I'm going to hold on the purchase based on this bit of information.
Direct email from the co-president of Foresights Sports when I asked if there is an additional cost for the Cyber Monday courses to be compatible with FSX Play.
"All courses you buy in FSX 2020 will be available in FSX Play – however not at the launch.
We have not decided on the cost to upgrade from FSX 2020 to FSX Play – but I think we will know by year end. If there is a charge, it would likely be in two formats – one time cost or annual cost for 2-3 years."
That’s interesting…I think video review by Golf Simulator Videos and some distributors in other groups have said FSX Play would be free if you have FSX 2020…Definitely changes the math on the courses If that’s true…

Doesn’t confirm anything really. All it says is “if there is a charge…”
