I have seen a couple of videos about new FSX Play software being in the works. Has anyone heard anything about when they are expecting to release this? Looks like it would be a nice upgrade to fsx2020.

That worked a treat....now can get the green where I want them to be, thanks.
I also found that La Jolla Pines works in FSX 2020 without entering an activation code. I just downloaded it from the FSX2020 library and it worked without entering any code.
Del Monte however seems to be FSX Play only as it is not listed in the Foresight Support FSX 2020 library. It actually appears in my course library on my PC in FSX2020 but is greyed out and says not downloaded

I don't think Del Monte is available for FSX2020 at all, only Play. I did purchase Play, but it does concern me that they may start building/releasing new courses only for Play vs. concentrating on converting current courses to Play. I still think Play is garbage compared to FSX2020. Play is worse in every way except for graphics.

At this point i feel like FS has just decided FSX Play is what it is. They gave us default mulligans and that's it for fixes. So frustrating for $500. How is it even possible there has only been one update since its release? Sure, we got a couple free courses but overall I'm just disappointed they haven't made any updates since Feb 24th.

Standard FS development I’m afraid. I reported a whole heap of FSX / FSX2020 / My Performance bugs over the years and half of them have still never been fixed!Originally posted by tkvaughn999 View PostAt this point i feel like FS has just decided FSX Play is what it is. I have over 45 courses for FSX - most of which are original ones bought a few years ago. With the exception of Wentworth and the free ones, none of my courses have been converted. I’ve got about 40 courses that aren’t compatible yet.
It’s now Spring, and I’ll be playing a lot more outdoor golf until about September. I had hoped it’ll all be fixed by then… but I seriously doubt it!
As a GC2 / HMT user, I feel like I’m taking a big step backward having to connect by cable rather than Bluetooth.
The whole thing has been a huge letdown. I’d have been disappointed if it was a free update - but having to pay $500 for it seems like an insult!!

I had a reply from support at Foresight regarding my query about Play development and camera integration.
They said no idea about camera integration but felt that Play would be mainly about playing , so reading into that means to me that it will remain very basic.
They said that they think they are busy porting courses over and that a software update likely to follow after that has been done.
Not looking great really. Can't see how they expect to move forward with Play as their only offering and their lack of direction regarding the development is hard to understand.

Funny people ask me all the time how do i like my foresight and all i can say is data good but simulation is terrible. At $18k a piece they should have a massive team on devs fixing all these bugs.

Despite the graphics of FSX 2020, and shortcomings of FSX Play, I feel they are both two of the most realistic available. Have played other sims and they feel too video game-ish for my liking. I find FSX 2020 scores to be very similar to my actual scores on course. And that's based on two courses I have that I actually play in real life on regular basis. Just my opinion.

I agree. Not sure what you've played that you feel is more realistic...not saying there aren't issues, but it should be most like the real thing. I totally get that it could be improved upon greatly, but at least the ball does what it would do in real life exactly and the courses are pretty much an exact replication which I certainly cannot say for some others.

I see they keep advertising for Graphics Developers to design courses... I bet they're having a hard time finding one that plays golf regularly and is a graphics designer and knows how to work with course graphics. Sad to say, pandemic has hit all industries.
One other thing - if you can get over some minor annoyances in TGC2019, there are courses galore and more being added all the time... something that will takes 20+ years to achieve, or more probably in FSX Courses.
