GCQuad - What can affect ball speed readings?

I'm seeing a sudden drop in ball speed with my GCQuad. Yesterday I was hitting my new Stealth and consistently seeing ball speeds in the 162-166 range. Now today I'm swinging the same club, at the same speed with the same launch and spin out of the center of the face, yet my ball speed has dropped to the 155-159 range

Any thoughts on what could be causing that? I truly feel like this isn't a swing issue given that everything else is consistent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sound and feel wise it seems the same. I'm getting 156-158 ball speed on major mishits and 158-160 when I flush it.

A few things out could be. Check your club data to make sure your clubhead speed isn't dropping. Otherwise, try a fresh ball. There's only so much beating a ball will take before it loses it's effectiveness. I've cracked balls at times or shredded the cover with wedge shots. But yeah, try a fresh sleeve of balls

^ This. Ball speed will drop precipitously about 20-40 shots before you visibly (and/or audibly) crack it.

Ball speed measurement is the simplest thing the GCQuad does. It would be extremely unusual for the Quad to misread ball speed.

Are you using a different type of golf ball than you were the previous day? Different brands and models absolutely perform differently. also an old golf ball being hit several times can crack and wear down.
