    FSX Play and swing cameras

Am I able to use my existing (cheap) swing cameras with FSXPlay? Order I need to also purchase the Swing Catalyst upgrade.

Test them with free trail of swing catalyst my 120fps from china cheap ones worked, I didn’t purchase swing catalyst though. But presume it works with play when set to using the launch monitor to trigger recording.

FSX Play currently has no camera capability . I'm not sure if anyone knows if there is a timeline for this or what the nature of camera integration will be.
I hope that the interface that FSX2020 has which allows use of cheap cameras such as I have is an option as I don't need high end cameras.

This might sound dumb because I have no idea, but....... My thought was, I'll be using a computer with a 1070 video card which I believe is near the minimum requirement. This may cause issues if I try to run FSX and SC at the same time. One of the things I really like about using 2020 for play and practice is when I hit a bad shot I can immediately look at the video and see/guess what I did wrong. And I do that a lot !! If I'm correct and this is how it functio s my $500 may just be for 2 courses with better graphics. I'm not opposed to that but would like a little more.

SC works with 2020, I tried to using SC while using Play and it did not work on the same computer!

I have had SC running with FSX play but I had to ramp down my frame rates on the cameras for the Card to keep up - I run an RTX2080 Super. I agree that a 1070 card my be challenged.

I would think that has more to do with the USB controller than the GPU right? I know SC is using the GPU as an accelerator instead of hitting the CPU for the replays. Does it have trouble when you high-speed scrub the replay or is it having trouble actually dropping frames on the captures?

No, the limitation is the GPU - I can get 240fps in FSX2000 with SC. Exact same set up.

I have an RTX 2060 and it struggles to run both Play and SC with two cameras. It works, but...

2020 and SC, no problem at all, all day long.

Couple of things you can check for in Swing Catalyst. First, make sure that "Settings - Video Capture", the GPU Nvidia NVENC 264 is selected as the video encoding option, NOT the CPU. Secondly, you can adjust the FPS potential by "Settings-Cameras-Advanced-Options-Configure Video Source Pin" under "Color Space/Compression" is set to RGB 16 or 32 (Ignore the red underline for now). Then, if you can, adjust your resolution down a bit from the default, that will help also. I run mine at 1280x1024 and get just under 300 FPS. One last thing, and I'm sorry but I don't have a screenshot, if you go to "Settings-Cameras-Advanced-Options-Image" (the red underlined tab) you can adjust the shutter speed, which while darkening the image a bit, will greatly reduce the amount of blur, particularly at impact.

To my knowledge, NO. It does not have swing cameras as part of the program. I think that's why Swing Catalyst worked to be part of Foresight or at least running along with Foresight.

If I'm wrong (and I hope I am) others will add in.
