Noticed the Foresight practice facility has appeared - choice between putting, chipping and driving ranges.

The range is good. Kind of cool to practice at night under the lights. Reminds me of all the night ranges sessions i used to do when i was learning the game. I know a lot of people say they use FSX2020 for the range but i exclusively use Play now. Primarily because i done have to wait for the stupid post shot birds eye tracer. Play will just immediately shoot you back to the tee box when your ball stops and you can hit again. All the data tiles are on the bottom of the screen and you can customize what’s showing just like FSX2020.
-
You can move your cursor anywhere on the minimap then right click to place your ball at that location then there is a 'Relocate' button in the drop down menu that allows you to move from 1-400 yards on that line to the hole. It works good enough. If your chipping and want to go to the opposite side of the green then chip back towards the hole you kind of have right click beyond the hole on the minimal then relocate in the drop down menu (you can pin the relocate tap to main screen) back to the spot you want on the new line. It a little tedious but not a deal breaker, it can be done easy enough. What would be cool is a way to zoom out on the mini map x2, x5 then just right click exactly where you want to be. Also would be cool if there were a few different flags on the greens instead of just one. As it is now just like FSX2020 is you have to back out then change the flag difficulty and reenter the chipping green area.

Wait longer..imo. I still use fsx2020 all the time to practice and when friends are over we use fsx2020 or that other software that can’t be named.
Eventually it will get there, graphics are good but not optimized so it will tax even a 3080 cards resources. Not enough features yet, but if you play solo it’s ok now..

You can turn off the birds eye view tracer after fsx 2020 range shots and have it go immediately back to the next shot. No waiting.

FSX Play is great. I too use it rather than the alternatives for training. My wish list is for online tournaments and the ability to create your own course play list and “best of” holes from the course library and I’ll never look back. Still waiting on Pebble and some other premium courses too (and a sale because I don’t own them, lol).
I have extensively tested the RTX 3080 in 1080p. On best graphics settings, most courses are over 50 fps. Some are over 75. Kinsale is right at 30 fps for me on a few holes.
As mentioned in a prior post, I also tested with a 1070 and a 1060. Both of those produce 30 fps+ on most courses, although lowering the graphics slider is sometimes required.

I recently got a BLP and was going to get a relatively cheap laptop since my old PC is too old. I am glad I read these threads about GPU requirements for FSX Play. I think I dodged a bullet because it seems FSX Play would be quite GPU intensive for a 4K projector at 60 FPS. I dropped the laptop idea (even though I prefer a laptop to a desktop for convenience) and bought a high-spec PC with a 3090Ti card. I am still waiting for the PC to arrive but I think FSX Play will perform well. I am looking forward to getting my golf simulator setup with the impact screen etc.

ForesightMattyG I wouldn’t hold your breath about the 3080ti as I have asus Rog strix oc card and on harbour town on full performance at 4k I barley get 20 fps and on most course it’s betweeen 25-30 with i7 12700 32gb ram. Hopefully foresight sort out the graphic optimization as with a beefy pc I would have expected better.

Fieldy - Thanks for your reference and information about the card you are using. A New Version Of Harbour Town Was Released Yesterday - https://www.foresightsports.com/supp...tware/fsx-play. Can you confirm the Frame Rate is still 20FRPS? Also - There was an addition in the FSX PLAY Software release v1.3.1.2 where FRPS was influenced to better control game function. Are you running this version of software as well?
-
So yes I downloaded the new course update and also the recent software version and yes it’s still struggling with fps. ForesightMattyG. It’s just extremely gpu intensive. Shame as really like the software

I just got my new computer with a 3090Ti GPU card, 16 core i9 12900K processor (liquid cooling), 64GB DDR5 ram and downloaded FSX Play. I still do not have an impact screen to hit into but I connected to my BLP, downloaded the Teton Pines course, and started to play just some chip shots to test how the system would perform. The GPU utilization was 95-100% - which is ridiculous considering I was not even connected to a 4K monitor. FSX Play must be extremely GPU hungry. I am a bit disappointed, to be honest. I have the v1.3.1.2 of FSX Play which supposedly has improvements. I will test with a 4K projector later.

jamgolf - You will want to review your License Management on your FSX LIVE profile: https://help.foresightsports.com/hc/...ing-A-License-
If you are unable to resolve this through that means please contact support: www.foresightsports.com/contact-support

MarcoD - V-sync ON settings in Nvidia Control Panel (Manage 3D Settings) being enabled will limit the output of your video card based on the max level of frames per second on your display. So your graphics card wont be working harder than your display can operate at.

Any support for swing cameras yet? I love the graphics/ui upgrade in FSX Play but I have 2 cameras I use for swing analysis in FSX 2020 and don't see myself going to FSX Play for driving range practice until that feature is available.

SoCalPlaya - I will provide your feedback for our development team for consideration. Thanks for engaging with these software and offering feedback!
-
ForesightMattyG - Can you use swing cams in FSX Pro? I have tried, but did not see the option. I would use the FSX Play range if I could practice and save my session with swing videos to the online portal like FSX 2020 does.

dinospumoni - the FSX PRO software will have the Swing Camera function eventually. Also - Swing Catalyst Software is integrated to our products:

I just downloaded the Foresight Sports Practice Facility in FSX play which says it comes at no extra cost on the Foresight website. However, when I went to load it from FSX Play it said I needed to purchase it. Has anyone else encountered this?

I did not need to purchase anything (over and above Play) to make it work. Sounds like a trouble ticket.Originally posted by D.Mitch View PostI just downloaded the Foresight Sports Practice Facility in FSX play which says it comes at no extra cost on the Foresight website.
