GC Quad or GC2/HMT for home and GC3 for travel? Crazy idea I know..

I have a gc2/hmt and was considering getting a quad but it’s a lot of extra money for the same thing minus the portability. It’s also pushing it price range at the moment without selling off some other toys, lol. I was thinking about getting a gc3 and selling the gc2/hmt and just move on. Another idea brought up was keeping the gc2/hmt for home/studio and using the gc3 for taking to range, course, tourney prep, junior golf stuff, if a lefty comes over, etc.

It might be cheaper in the long run vs selling the gc2/hmt and getting a quad with club data. I mean how often do any of you use the quad full club data when outside of the house? I don’t know maybe it’s a crazy idea, guess I could try it and if it’s a fail I could sell one or the other..

Anyone else try this at all? I know with that other software everything is really up in the air with gc3 or quad connecting with the lawsuit…

Personally I am waiting to see how Foresight acts in the coming months. It has been well over a year and I am still missing 1.3rd of my purchased courses. I find this truly unacceptable but what is even worse is FSX Play (which I like quite a lot) is still ridden with bugs whish are not getting fixed. Releasing a software update every 6 to 8 weeks with so many thing not yet working or implemented for a paid upgrade is beyond brutal - and as I said, I am generally a fan - I love the Quad.

I have resolved to hold back any additional $ being spent on FS gear or software until this gets sorted out and this is the counsel I give to anyone who asks. There are companies which are acting much differently and producing well priced gear and updating their software (with real fixes) on a much more aggressive pace. In your case, I would hang on to the GC2/HMT as long as it is meeting the need. If you do upgrade, I would still keep the GC2/HMT and add the GC3 for the reasons you state. My two cents.

Get that "other" software and don't look back. So disappointed in Play. Loved 2020 but that other software is incredible.
