  • Third Party Software Integration

I just received an email announcing Foresight Sports will be offering additional authorized software integrations to our user community. Further details coming in the next few days. Could this be a partnership with GSPRO?

Pretty silly that you have to buy FSX 2020/Play to have access to whatever 3rd party software they parter with (which I assume you will have to buy as well.)

wonder if this means they will punt FSX Play all together?

Foresight is all-in on FSXPlay. No way they let it go.

And yes, it will allow GSPro and likely others (E6?) to be played officially on Foresight devices.

Other than the GC2, which won't require any FSX license to use with GSPro, TCG2019 and other software.

        Already using GSPro and GameChanger.

What benefits do we think will come from official support?

The fear is that all units GC2, GC3 etc. will require one to have an FSX 2020 or FSX play software to be able to connect with GSPro. That will stink for the GC2 or GC3 ball enabled folks who did not purchase any Foresight software.

Any guesses as to whether a 3rd party integration license will need to be purchased to play TGC2019 with a Quad? Or will it continue to work?

Who knows. Depends on whether TGC 2019 becomes a third party option for Foresight like GSPro.

Isn't E6 alrerady officially on foresight? My real question is then if you are already running GSpro on your sim if your license will transfer over, assuming you already have FSX2020 and play.

While I won't consider anything impossible, GC2 sends data that is not encrypted. That's why it is so easy to use a GC2 with GSPro with Bluetooth. Simplest connection ever. Along with that, Foresight has deemed them "end of life", and doesn't even sell them anymore. I would find it hard to believe that the GSPro developers would agree to lock out GC2 owners without an FSX license given it is no longer a supported product of Foresight.

That's exactly the fear. No different with a GC3 ball enabled. Remember Foresight is now partnered with GSPro so anything can happen.

The consequences they talk about in the email, how would they know you are using the GC3/GCQuad with an unauthorized 3rd party connector such as par launcher or game changer? Can they get more information depending on the connection you are using such as USB vs ethernet? Is there a way for them to see it? Would it be a slap on the wrist and told not to use it any longer if they found out? Really sucks that we have been able to use a 3rd party connector for TGC up to this point and they are gonna start coming after people for using it.

It is my understanding there is a difference. GC3 encrypts data, even ball data. That's why a third-party interface is currently required to use a GC3 with GSPro, while none is required with a GC2. A GC2 is not encrypted, thus, can't be blocked.

That's not the issue. Foresight and GSPro are in partnership. They likely will block any current software like Gamechanger and have you go through Foresight much like Uneekor does to get GSPro legally. The email suggests that all Foresight units will require FSX2020 or FSXPlay to play any third party software. This is a problem for BLP folks and GC3 partially unlocked (ball enabled) units that don't have the Foresight software. BLP folks will have to get the 700 yearly package if that's the case. No need to panick but something is coming.

According to some guy on GS Pro Discord:
                          Truth_Teller

I am making this post as I believe it is only right that EVERYONE that owns a BLP has all of the information to make the best decision for them this weekend before it is too late to make any decision. I do not mean to stir anything up. I just feel it is the right thing to do. Clearly there are a few select people in this Discord channel that know what is going to happen, but they will not speak on the specifics. On Monday Bushnell is going to drop the price of the BLP to $2000 and completely crush the resale value of anyone that has purchased their product over the last 2 years. A big F U for being a loyal customer. Outside of that bombshell, as expected, they will require a higher sub to use GSPRO and apparently somehow they will be able to stop the Game Changer app from working. Note: The Game Changer app not working is the only thing that I am not certain of, but it sounds like it will not work or that Bushnell/Foresight will be able to determine who is using it and stop you somehow. Obviously Game Changer working or not is the most important thing to know for sure one way or the other, but unfortunately it is unknown until next week. Lastly, and very important. This unlock sale at $2750 is not only the last sale ever on unlocking a BLP, it is the last time Bushnell/Foresight is going to let you unlock a BLP. After this sale, all BLPs are in a sub forever going forward if you never unlocked. Now EVERYONE has the info that they need to make a decision.
Now, you can look at this two ways -
He's lying on the internet. Certainly plausible and the easiest conclusion to come to.
He's not lying. Bushnell's email and their sub comparison saying Gold is needed for third party software falls in line with what this person is saying.

Either way, I decided not to risk it and got the $2750 unlock. I got my BLP Refurbished back when the Journal coupon worked, so I paid $2300 for it. With the $2750 license, I'm in the hole $5000 for a fully unlocked GC3 Essentials equivalent. I could probably sell it for $4500 even if I use it for a year or so. If unlock doesn't go away, the "new" price isn't much cheaper than what I paid and my break even is just 2 years longer. Device works the same. No real loss except longer break even. If unlock does go away, I have a "grandfathered" unlocked device. Their sub page says fully unlock is "Gold" package, so I think they can't really downgrade me.

Who knows at this point. Time will tell. Smart move to unlock if you’re keeping the unit for 5 or more years. Tech is moving fast these days so who knows.
