Latest Update - 1.9.0.10 - Issues

Ran the update through FSX Play today. Install ran fine but ran into a couple issues,

- All favorite players disappeared. Had to re-add which was a pain
- Went to start a practice round at Paris and FSX Play crashed. The error message box popped up quickly and disappeared but the title was FSX Unity, not sure what the rest said. FSX Play launched fine after
- Started a round with two players at Pitch and Putt par three course. No on screen ball assist was displayed, first player hit fine, second player was unable to hit, no ball detected within FSX Play, GC3 registered the shot fine. Restart didn’t help. Will try again tomorrow
- Played 9 holes at Ballyowen, St Andrews Old Course, and Marco Simone. On screen ball assist showed but the GC3 unit image was completely pink. Not that I’ve payed attention previously but I’m fairly certain it was an image of an actual GC3 unit on screen before.

It’s amazing to me when they have a new update the amount of problems that come up that weren’t there before.

I ran update, play few holes on different course and it worked fine. Dual screens is nice to have again.

We have been waiting for Dual Screens for so long - this will be great to have once more. Will update later on this week - hopefully no issues.

Also just realized there are about 15 or so new free courses. I need to download those too.

There has been a change to the BPL / Foresight offering overnight (which included additional free courses to FSX Play).

Foresight are now offering third party access to a number of software platforms

Amazing, that was not there when I was looking just last night. Interesting.

One other change I have noticed, the Swing Catalyst integration looks like it ight be limited to Home edition (One Camera only). This would be a big downgrade as we were previously able to purchase the other packages allowing for more cameras ......

I agree with this. Bought GSpro last night, gonna give that a try. New courses are great, but there are none that I would have bought on my own. I think this is a good move though to try and promote play, now people feel like they are getting something. Havent downloaded the new version yet.... was waiting to see what bugs popped up.

I guess I should have chosen a different word. I was amazed it was not available less than8 hours prior when I was checking ..... I share your frustration about the lack of updates for existing courses.......and yes while nice there are new ones (not really sure of the strategy here) I would like to be able to play the ones I own as well......

I would certainly rather be playing Royal Birkdale, Castle Stuart, etc, etc than Potter’s Park or whatever. But don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Any of the new free courses any good?

I see Royal Birk listed for sale but not able to download, most be coming soon. In all honesty I have so many courses, I can't play them all and when people come over they usually just want to play the ones they've heard of (ie Pebble, Spy etc). And the premium courses are better.

I emailed them about this.... I got a response that told me they are working on all the courses, but there are a few (ie Castle stuart) that wont be integrated into play due to licensing issues. They further expanded that Cabot did not want them to have that course and made a big stink about it and that I should reach out to Cabot directly and let them know I was displeased. Was kind of interesting. Extra interesting, since Foresight has the rights to Cabot Cliffs and Links. May request a different course in the future, since it wont be integrated though. Doubt an email will make a difference, but certainly dont mind sending one.

Like ENadeau, my favorite list disappeared as well. When I was adding those players back to the favorite list, I didn’t alphabetize them because I thought the program did that automatically but it didn’t. I could be mistaken but I thought it did in the past. Is there a way to get those alphabetized? I was hoping that my flickering /shuttering problems on some courses and the missing distance indicators would have been solved but they weren’t.

Friends list is alphabetical for me after re-adding, same as the prior update.

I’m not seeing any flickering and/or stuttering though. Is that issue better or worse than the previous update?

I am still having the issue of the on-screen ball assist GC3 icon showing up totally pink as posted in the screenshot above. Very annoying but not game breaking.

I have 100% narrowed down what causes the distance meter to disappear, at least on my end. Any time the camera pans awkwardly due to an obstacle in the way such as a steep slope, tree, building, etc, the distance meter doesn’t render and disappears. The black vertical line from the aim point is there but the actual box that holds the distance and elevation meter is gone. It seems anytime the camera view doesn’t render properly or quick enough, the meter glitches out. On my screen, it’s as if the camera quickly pans towards the sky and then back down. I have been tracking this for a while now and am 13/13 this being what has caused the meter to disappear.
