Also I would say the most important club data is the face angle as one can figure out face to path. Face to path is the biggest variable amongst the best ball strikers in the world, basically the pros who are most consistent.

17min mark. But you can listen to the whole thing as it's very interesting.

I think a gc3 is a better option for Junior golfers. Tech is changing faster now in the sim community. A quad will probably be outdated faster than the gc2 this cycle..
Junior golfers getting lessons they’re coach will probably have a quad or trackman these days..
i only bought a quad 3 yrs ago because it was that or 3 yrs membership to a club so now i can play all year and beyond 3 yrs for hopefully 4 more. You won’t take it to the course much and maybe the range once in awhile, and it’s expensive so you got to keep an eye on it
whats kinda crazy is after 3 years and competing I use it 95% of the time with one dot or ball only. I film swings with swing catalyst and get occasional lessons on gears 3d..

Super interesting. So bascially even at $11k fully loaded for the GCQ a GC3 which is still half that price is the better go? I assume for GC3 it comes with club data or is that extra? And can still use FX Pro/Play/ 2020 or GS PRO? Are there people that don't even by the FSX software (ie fitters bundle) and just use GS PRO?

GC3 gives you 1-dot club data. One of the previous posts listed what you gain with the GCQ and 4-dot data.

You’ll still have the Foresight suite of applications and you’ll need a FSX2020/FSX Play license to then use GSPro since they’ve gone to an official connector.

Is it worth it? Clearly its a subjective decision. I had GC2 initially. Being analytical, felt like I was seeing with one eye knowing there was more data available. Upgraded to GCQuad. Love it. Couldn't imagine practicing without. Has accelerated my sons learning curve. I had the discretionary funds, but some of the best money I've spent. We do take it to the range occasionally and I have even taken it on the course.

If you look at the proliferation of great young golfers today, they aren't getting there solely finding it in the dirt. They are using data.

I don't know anyone, and can't really think of people posting in this forum, who I have heard say they regret buying a GCQuad. Foresight software has its detractors, but everyone loves the GCQ, myself included.

Of course, whether it's "worth the money" just depends what else you would otherwise do with the money. It is an expensive toy. But it sounds like you and your family would get a lot of usage out of it, and if the financial side of the equation makes sense for you then I am sure you will be very happy with the purchase.

I bought a GC2 in 2014, bought FSX in 2016, and added an HMT in 2018. Over the years, I've used it all loads. Probably not as much as I should have, but it's been a very useful tool for practicing, and playing during the dark winter months.

I've recently sold it all on (for just under £5000 - must've cost me over £14000 in total) because I wanted something new. I had a look at all of the cheaper options, but there is nothing competes with the Quad. I actually went for the QuadMAX (£18000) as I had the fear that the GC Quad will soon become an old obsolete product and I figured if I was going to spend now, I might as well get the latest / greatest model.
Here in the UK, I would have still been £15000 for a new GC Quad - as we don't get any of the great offers the US get.. so the difference wasn't that bad.

I absolutely love the QuadMAX and have been using it more than ever. My 5 year old son is taking interest in golf too (a new set of Callaway's from Santa!), so it'll become a useful tool for him too after he's had a couple of lessons.

Arguably, a GC3 with club data would have done a similar job - but then I'd lose out on the 4-dot data that I've been used to with the HMT.
To be honest, I haven't really gained an awful lot swapping from GC2/HMT to QuadMAX. Accuracy has improved, but we're talking about a yard or so! The bigger hitting area is great, WiFi connection is solid (bluetooth used to drop out on occasion) and having a single unit is easier to setup and also take to the range. Being able to customise the data on the QuadMAX screen is nice too.

Is it worth the money? Probably not... but if I didn't spend it on my golfing hobby, I'd probably spend it on something else... like my mountain biking hobby!!
At least the QuadMAX will benefit me, my son, and some of my friends (and maybe my daughter one day!).

That’s so cool! I’d be interested to know why you went with the Quad Max over the Quad.

The QuadMAX is the newer model. Foresight were offering Quad to QuadMAX conversions for existing owners. I imagine at some point in the (near?) future they'll stop selling the Quad and only sell the QuadMAX. When I purchased last year, the Quad had already been out for 7 years.
When spending that sort of money, it made sense to spend a little more and get the newest model rather than one that could potentially be obsolete in a few years.

I regret buying the quad, I should’ve gone with a trackman. The tech is solid with quad but after having one for a few years and gc2/hmt before that there’s a few things that now I know I’d go with trackman. Dots for club data, switching lefty/right, and lack of other data like vsp, swing direction, etc.
Trackman doesn’t take much longer to setup on the range and use your phone for data, quad would edge it taking it out to the course but that’s about it..

The software ecosystem is terrible with foresight. I don’t play sim golf so I don’t use gspro and trackman software with ai video and tps training is the gold standard for practice.
