  • TGC alignment help?

    Hey Guys,

Im gonna try my best to explain this, I looked on the forums, but couldnt find anyone else asking this same question....

I own both FSX and FSS software . Both software has an alignment tool, and when Im either on a range or on a course, when I hit my ball, it starts exactly where it hits the screen.

With TGC, before hitting the ball, the ball is showing in the middle of the screen, and after contact, regardless where ball hits screen, it always starts from middle of screen.
Is there anyway to change this?

I find as currently setup, the FSX/FSS software plays more realistic, becuase the actual image on screen, is the same as hitting in real life. I just aim to a target on the screen....

Any help on this would be great...

    Cheers,
    Calvin

What you're looking for is currently on the TGC wish list, and will hopefully be implemented eventually.
What you have to remember is that TGC is essentially a computer game that's been adapted to work with simulators. I realise most simulator software is the same, but TGC is still very early in its conversion.

My sim room isn't big enough for me to be hitting into the middle of the screen, so ideally I'd like to offset my target line to the right by a bit. I just try and hit the ball straight - that way it's on target for where the line is aiming. I just wish I could hit it straight more often!

      Hi Calvin,

This is something I've been asking for for a while for the exact reasons you explain. I seem to be in the minority though, glad others see the benefit of this. The more vocal we are the more likely something like this will make it's way to TGC. Speaking of, I think I will revive the top 10 for TGC. I'm finding some parts of it very annoying. Lack of touch screen support is ridiculous!

        Well thats really dissapointing....

To me this is a huge setback for realistic gameplay...

I agree with the Touch screen, Im having the same issue...

        Also,

Is there a way to skip holes?

My room is only 12' wide so I also don't hit into the middle of the screen and hopefully they add the ability to adjust the alignment.

But for now I have a white glow in the dark 6" x 1/2" line on the ground before the screen to aim at and I look up from there and pick a target.

There is no way yet to skip holes

I can hit into the middle of screen, but even that doesn't compare to fsx software for that realistic feel..

So which one would you recommend FSX or TGC?

Why do you guys feel there is no touchscreen support? I have been using a touchscreen from day one with TGC.

Hi! I've got the Acer T232HL.

But I'm wondering if we're coming at this from the same direction.

My touchscreen works with my OS, no issues. When I use the ProTee Range (running Protee) I can select clubs, etc. by using the touchscreen, since the on screen controls lend themselves to being activated that way. For instance, touch the CLUB button and the selection menu opens up. Touch the desired club on the touchscreen and it is selected, and so on.

With TGC, (running TGC) I have tended to use the keyboard since the shortcut keys aren't accessible on the display screen. The touch screen works, but the interface isn't set up for it's use. Maybe this is your beef?

Yeah, with ProTee everything works. I can launch TGC via the touchscreen but that is it. I can't start the server or navigate the interface profile or anything. If I launch it with a mouse I can't select anything or use any of the TGC menus. This basically forces you to have a keyboard and/or mouse in the room. I had hoped to only have the touchscreen in the room.
