  • Foresight GC2 on ProTee Golf 2.0 with Online Play!

GC2 owners now have the option of using their GC2 launch monitor with the ProteePlay(ProteeGolf 2.0) simulation software. They will even be able to play online with Protee golf simulator owners.

  • Hey guys,

I've got a GC2 and I'm having serious issues getting putts started on a straight line. For those of you who have a GC2, are you actually able to get the putts to get a 0 degree reading on the 'Path/start line' stat of the GC2? No matter what I do, it starts left or right, I can't get the putt to start straight, as far as the GC2 is concerned. I have put down tape, intermediate targets, lined everything up and I still always get a push or a pull. I'm talking at least 1.5 degrees also. In ProteeOnline I am having the same problem. If its not a gimmee, it's not going in. What are you guys seeing on your end?

    • Rick, haw is your line when you putt just on the GC2? Are your numbers reasonable outside the ProTee software?

      • in real life i'm great inside 10 feet. Maybe not great like you stratch guys, but I make enough. In this game, I make 10%, literally. I'm not sure if its cause the GC2 starting line or what. 1.5 degrees isn't bad for irons but for putter, its enough to miss inside 6-10feet.

        • I really wonder if that 1-2 degree error in horizontal is the issue! Ok to be off with longer shots but the putter it becomes an issue. Is there a good way to line it up etc to get the max accuracy in horizontal path?

          • We had some heated discussions about the GC2 putting over at the other forum about a year or two ago. No need to rehash it here.

But I will say that I putt good on the GC2 but I putt very good on the Protee putting sensor.

            • I have found a way, but its kinda silly. I will never aim straight. will aim left and push a putt or aim right and pull. I made more putts last round that way. I have never been able to get a 0 path reading, the closest I get is 0.4, and its hard for me to do.

              • I know when I set up the GC2 using the Foresight range you have that white aim line and then when you put straight on your turf and you see the ball off line then ever so slightly turning the GC2 to get it lined up. It does not take much to move it and that can create that 1 deg swing. I think if you are at 1 or under it seems about as good as it gets. I have seen that number bounce a bit right or left by a degree and end up fairly straight. Does the specs say that it is within 1 deg for that read? Just looked at the web site and Azimuth is +/- 1.0 deg so yes it will vary a bit on every putt.

Just thought of an idea to use something like a hot wheels track to lay down straight and hit a ball and see how close you can get things going straight. I do think that it does not take much for the GC2 to read an off line putt but it does seem like once set up straight, it can be good and should be able to hit straight putts. I know with the GC2 you need a flat spot to putt from and no

                • Interesting SFR. I do have a golf mat that's built into my floor. It evens exactly with my carpet but maybe it's not 10000% exact and there is a slight bounce. I will move my GC2 to flat carpet and see if it makes a difference. I can live with 0.9 degree or something, but I'm getting 1.4 at best and I know that's enough to be offline if Protee uses that data.

                  • Looking at the Foresight download section, 3.3.0.0 is still the latest firmware. Has been like that for a while. They don't appear to be in a hurry to do anything. Nobody knows if they're even going to do anything. The Protee 2.0 sold a few GC2's already...lol.

                    • No issues with 3.5.1.0

                      • It's been awhile since I've been on the forum, dislocated my shoulder, so I've not been able to play for awhile...

Anyway, am I correct in assuming that Foresight's not done anything to prevent interfacing the ProTee software with the GC2? I've never upgraded my firmware, but might consider it if there are no issues.

                        • That's correct. The latest 3.5.1.0 worked fine. Hope you're back to normal soon.

                          • They actually have 3.5.4.0 out now and I did install it and it works fine with Protee but I am finding it does not work with the USB connection when playing on the Foresight software. It did work when using bluetooth for the Forsight software.

What I was getting was shots that went no where, almost like they backed up and stopped inches away.

Again it works fine when using Bluetooth on both Protee and Foresight.

                            • Thanks for that info SFR. Strange they would put up a release without testing it on USB.

                              • Cool stuff. Did you notice anything improvements with this new update SFR? (with bluetooth) Is it worth it to upgrade?
