Really - Is it unheard of that people negotiate a $6000 deal for one of these?

As a Canadian I tried to buy the unit new from the Canadian dealer. He would not move on the SDK. Called par2pro - same thing. Called a US dealer - same thing. Perhaps you will have better luck.

Mario, i have a work around to not pay the SDK fee if your interested. PM me, it's worked recently. Be prepared though for $6600 US plus tax.

OK thanks for the info Mario - they must have sales targets and some room for negotiation - or maybe not - these guys seem very firm on price!!

Firm on price - for now. I'm hopeful that the competitive dynamics shift in favour of the consumer at some point.

        • #35
you can buy the unit for 6600 directly from foresight without an SDK. I really grew to like the FSX driving range so I don't mind paying for their software + Merion course.

The Canadian Rep will want to sell you mats, screen, warranty. He's got more lines and if your just buying a GC2, he doesn't care that much about you. Your better off to give your money to par2pro

My experience was different than yours luv2golf. Aaron supplies par2pro. I bought from Aaron. Asking about the screen, mat ect is no different than do you want fries with that? In my case, I asked what mat. He saved me a ton of money on my mat. Now I wish I had his screen as well. My buddy got it and it's better than par2pro's screen imo. It is more durable a lot quieter. I cracked the leg on my GC2 and his tech replaced the leg for free while I waited. Did you buy from him and have a bad experience?

Yes mthunt, I know your experience was different, but it seems there are more in the same boat I'm in.
Ask hoganwoods or others who are also Canadian that were trying to be upsold by aaron.

I appreciate you sharing your experience, but mine was completely different. I would never buy from him, would rather pay retail and get from PAR2PRO. The have a TRUE web presence and will treat you like a customer and not just another deal.

It looks like I lucked out. I received the GC2a I purchased on eBay for $3,000 on Saturday. Worked great out of the box. Didn't need to be plugged in, and my iPhone connected to it right away. Looks like I got lucky!!

Very nice! I wish I had bought that Nike one instead of the one that I got! Mine is on its way to Foresight to see what is going on with it.

Have you connected it to Perfect Golf yet? I'm not sure if the apple connection is same as the bluetooth to cpu? My GC2 is not apple, just regular not the A.

The Bluetooth connection or module in GC2 is same for all versions. In order to connect to an iOS device you need an Apple authentication chip.
That has nothing to do with Bluetooth. It's a separate IC you buy from an Apple authorized distributor where you feed in a code and get an encrypted response that is required to connect to the iOS device.
So if it connects to any BT device incl. Ipad etc ... you are good to go.

My room is still a work in progress. Like some others on this forum, I was planning on finishing the room and buying the launch monitor last. But then I found this unit, and couldn't let a great deal go by. I have my net up, but am still figuring out my screen, projector, and curtains. Once those are in place, I'll be jumping on PG as well!

And based on what I've been reading recently made it seems that people are trending towards PG instead of TGC, primarily due to pricing, correct?

You can buy PG for $20 on steam. But before you do so, have you tested out the bluetooth connection to your PC?

IF that doesn't work your SOL. If it works, your golden. I'd check that first before you do anything else.

Ahh.... well pricing actually hasn't been released since PG is in beta testing. So right now the price is only the cost of the software on steam. You can't purchase PG for sim use yet.

I don't know about any trending but currently you can buy PG for sim use for $20 or pay $1000 for TGC. For most people it is an easy call.

When PG is officially released the price is expected to increase and at that point people will have to reevaluate whether to stay with PG or switch to TGC.

At that point you will probably be better off deciding for yourself rather than following the crowd. While both are good there *are* differences and the differences might matter to you but not other people.

Will PG run on Windows 10? I saw the 'recommended' requirements tops out at Windows 8. And I just want to be sure I get a machine which will run it.

Yes it will run on any Windows version. I have Win10 64bit.
This is more a Unity question than a question related to PG.

              Hey guys,

I know this is an older post, but I could not find anything else relating to the G100 (NikeSports). I got an redicioulos low offer for one of these. The battery is down, but this should not be a huge problem, since it runs on external power suply.

Is there any chance to flash the current firmware of the GC2 to this device? I know, foresight will not do it, so I have to figure a way out to do it on my own...

Any help is highly apprecciated :-)

Greetings from Germany, (hence the mediocre english ;-))

              Cheers!

There is no way to do it on your own but foresight will do it. Someone is actually selling a Nike GC2a right now. The problem is they will charge you an arm and a leg for other stuff. At a minimum there will be a $500 registration fee and $75 flash driver upgrade fee. If it has one of the flashes before they put an infrared lens they will tell you that you have to buy a superflash for $500. Plus shipping back and forth from Germany is going to be at least $100. If you want it upgraded to be apple compatible that’s another $500. Plus anything else that they find is wrong.

Do you just need ball data you or do you want to use it for a simulator? It still works standalone as a G100 but doesn’t give one of the ball parameters needed for simulation I think.

If you plan on buying FSX for $3k or an HMT you can likely get them to waive the registration fee.

So really it depends on how good of a deal you are being offered. If you can add $750-1250 to the price and still be happy then it is possible.

Hey Andy, thanks for all the info. Well, the seller told me, he has already sent it to foresight (in the uk I guess) to let the battery repair and flash the driver. Unfortunately they told him, they will not do it , but offered him a new GC2 for 3800€.

I could easely pay the extra 1000$, since even then it would be less then half of a used GC2 ;-) But sending it to them only to hear that they will not do it is quite a risk. From the pictures of the seller I can tell that right now it only shows ball speed, launch angle, side and total spin. Even for that bargain, this is not enough data for me. SIM would be great, but only having all the data the GC2 provides would be also fine for me. Would I need to buy the FSX too, if I only want a driving range to display the shots?

Maybe I should call the UK department to ask them upfront, if they will do it...This would realy suck, if I had to let go of this really cheap oportunity. :-(

Maybe the UK distributor has a different policy than the US headquarters. Or maybe they just changed what they will do in the last couple of years. Either way there is no harm in calling them. If you just want to see your shots you can use the android or iPad app but those don’t have animation. FSX is the most expensive option but has lots of driving range features. You could also get JNPG or TGC to practice with as well assuming they will upgrade it.

Just a quick feedback, if someone else has the same situation. Foresight (uk at least) asks for 3200£ to do the flashing with no further support for the device afterwards.... ridiculous! Really seems they are only interested in selling new devices :-/
